The Epic Games Store’s Thursday refresh went live at 11 AM ET today with two free games you can claim right now through November 12 at 11 AM ET:
Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms (normally free-to-play): A Dungeons & Dragons strategy management game where you collect and optimize formations of over 140 iconic Champions from across the D&D multiverse. The roster includes Drizzt Do’Urden, Minsc & Boo, and Baldur’s Gate 3 companions Astarion and Karlach. Kotaku noted “the game actually has a story structure,” unusual for an idle title. The game has eight campaigns based on official TRPG releases and 200+ adventures across locations like Baldur’s Gate, Waterdeep, and the Astral Sea. Your champions fight automatically even when you’re offline. Familiars handle basic grinding so you can focus on formation strategy.
Flotsam (normally $24.99 on Steam): A vibrant floating city-builder from Pajama Llama Games where you turn ocean garbage into homes, workshops, and gardens for a community of drifters. Sail across a flooded world scavenging plastic and driftwood. Rescue stranded survivors, research green tech like “eel-ectricity,” and manage production pipelines to keep your town thriving. The game released in December 2025 with Very Positive Steam reviews praising its cozy atmosphere and satisfying progression from survival to self-sustaining ecosystem.
Coming next week (November 12–19): Knightica is a bullet-hell roguelike where you build a knight from modular parts. It rotates in as Flotsam and Idle Champions leave.
| Game | Normal Price | Genre | Key Feature | Steam Rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms | Free-to-play | D&D Strategy Idle | 140+ Champions, 8 campaigns | Very Positive |
| Flotsam | $24.99 | Floating City-Builder | Turn garbage into towns | Very Positive |
Both free picks this week are substantially different from the usual Epic giveaway fare. Idle Champions is already free-to-play on Steam, so the Epic version mainly matters if you prefer that launcher or want the Epic-specific starter pack that sometimes accompanies these promotions. Flotsam is the real value here: a $25 city-builder that launched less than a year ago with Very Positive reviews, now free for a week. If you enjoy games like Frostpunk or Surviving Mars but want something more relaxed and colorful, it’s an easy claim. This week’s paid deals are covered in our Deal Radar (Nov 3). The October 15 free rotation featured Bad Cheese and Agent A plus Sker Ritual and Home. Today’s Morning Save Point also highlights the week’s new releases.
Plus, several smaller giveaways are running this week on Epic and other platforms. Highway Driving, Dark Mystery, Horse Racing, Epic World – Hunt For Quest, Gladiator: Blades of Fury, and Quiztopia: The Ultimate Trivia are all free on Epic through November 8. Letter Quest: Grimm’s Journey Remastered is free via Fanatical (Steam key) through November 6.
