Re-Volt, the 1999 RC car racing game originally published by Acclaim, is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation worldwide on November 5, 2026. Digital editions land on the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store that day, and a physical Nintendo Switch H2 Edition opens pre-orders today through H2’s new online store.
H2 Interactive, the Korean publisher that already ships the modern PC rerelease on Steam (released 2022 by Superday and priced at $5.99), is handling both console versions. The Switch and PlayStation builds add in-game help and a minimap, let players carry up to three pick-ups instead of one, and support four-player local split-screen multiplayer on a single system. Time Trial, Stunt Arena, Championship and standard multiplayer modes return, and the roster of 28-plus RC cars still races through 13 tracks across four Cups, including supermarkets, toy stores, museums and ghost towns. Rockets, oil slicks and battery boosts are back as pick-ups.
The physical Nintendo Switch H2 Edition pairs the game with collectibles: a Limited Edition box, metal slipcase, three stickers, an English game manual and two soundtrack CDs. Pre-orders are open through the new H2 Edition online store, where H2 has flagged “upcoming additions to the collection” as part of a broader physical-push strategy. H2 has not announced pricing for either the digital release or the H2 Edition.
This is the first time Re-Volt has hit modern home consoles outside of mobile. The original 1999 PC release was a cult hit for its everyday-environment tracks and toy-physics car handling, and H2 has kept the IP alive through the 2022 Steam rerelease and earlier mobile versions. November 5 sits on a stacked week of indie and mid-tier launches, including the Harold Halibut Switch 2 release on November 12 and the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds arcade release for Japanese game centers, giving nostalgic RC racers and physical collectors fresh options. Our recent release-dates roundup showed how dense the second half of October already is for Switch 2 and PS5 owners.
Our read: Re-Volt’s modern home-console revival has been overdue. H2 has spent four years quietly shipping the PC and mobile versions, and the H2 Edition’s soundtrack CDs and metal slipcase are the kind of bundle that retro collectors actually open their wallets for. The PC rerelease has held steady at $5.99 on Steam, which puts H2 in a strong position to set the console digital price aggressively. If H2 keeps the Limited Edition print run tight and the November 5 launch well-stocked, this is a natural counter-program to bigger racing releases later in the fall, and a low-risk entry for players who missed the 1999 original.
