Football Manager 27 is Sports Interactive’s football management sim, published by SEGA, and it launches on November 10, 2026. The studio splits it into three separate products, and the split decides what you buy: FM27 (PC/Mac) for Windows and Mac, FM27 Console for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, and FM27 Mobile for iOS and Android through Netflix. A fourth product, FM27 Touch, lands on Apple Arcade the same day.
Before any of that, the game is free to play. Sports Interactive’s Launch Preview announcement puts FM27 free on PC and Mac from 6 p.m. GMT on October 29 to 6 p.m. GMT on November 3, with every game mode available, no sign-up required, and saves that carry into the full game. The pre-purchase window opens on the same day with 10% off through SEGA-approved digital retailers.

What the free week changes
The Launch Preview replaces the beta and advanced access builds Football Manager used to run, and Sports Interactive says this one is closer in quality and finality to launch than those early builds were. The catch is in the small print: licensing approvals are still being worked out, so some club and player assets may be missing from the preview. What you get is a rebuilt match engine that uses Hawk-Eye Innovations data, a clearer interface, and the training and touchline controls called Tactical Tweaks and Tactical Effectiveness. Which subscription carries it
The platform split is the question we get asked most, and the studio answers it in its own platform FAQ. For Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscribers, FM27 (PC/Mac) is available from the Microsoft Store and the Xbox PC app, and the same subscribers can play FM27 Console through the Microsoft Store or Xbox PC app. PlayStation Plus is not confirmed for launch day, though Sports Interactive put FM26 Console into the PS Plus Premium and Extra catalogues after its own release. What is still unannounced
- The price. Steam lists the game as coming soon with no purchase box, so no official price exists to compare yet.
- The launch hour. Sports Interactive has published no clock time for November 10.
- A Steam Deck rating. Valve’s compatibility endpoint returns no category for FM27.
- PlayStation Plus. Nothing from the studio or from PlayStation.
- Editions. No official edition list or pre-order bonus has been published.
We analyzed Sports Interactive’s own platform FAQ, its launch announcement and the Steam spec sheet for Football Manager 27 on October 26, 2026, and the three together describe a launch with a lot of open blanks. The studio has confirmed four products and five platforms, and it has confirmed that two of them sit on Game Pass, but it has confirmed no price, no edition list and no launch hour. For example, the only discount on the table is 10% off through SEGA-approved digital retailers, and it applies to a price nobody has published yet. The PC side is the clearest: 20 GB of storage, 6 GB of RAM and a GTX 960-class card at the floor, 12 GB and a 2 GiB card on the recommended line, and a free five-day Launch Preview from October 29 to November 3 that runs on the same hardware a buyer will use. The Xbox handheld route is the sleeper option, because the PC and Mac build reaches those devices through the Xbox PC app on day one.
