Team17 has confirmed that Golf With Your Friends 2 will not release this fall as previously planned. The publisher announced the delay on Bluesky Monday, stating the game is now targeting a 2027 launch.
“Hey everyone, we’re moving the release of Golf With Your Friends 2 from this fall to 2027,” the Team17 post reads. “We know a lot of you were hoping to hit the courses this year, and we share in that disappointment. We truly appreciate your patience, enthusiasm, and continued support.”
According to its Steam page, the sequel introduces Chaos Mode, which remixes courses so players have to adapt on the fly, and brings a revamped level editor (course creator) to all platforms. The original Golf With Your Friends built a following with its accessible minigolf mechanics and cross-platform play across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
No specific 2027 window was given, and Team17 did not cite a reason for the delay beyond needing more development time. The Steam page currently lists only “2027” as the release date.
The original game’s community courses and regular updates kept players engaged for years, suggesting the extra development time could mean a more robust launch content pipeline — something the first game lacked early on. Other 2027 delays include The Duskbloods on Switch 2, and GTA 6’s own release date history shows how common schedule shifts are for ambitious multiplayer games.
