Bungo to Alchemist is a Japanese mobile game (文豪とアルケミスト) where historical writers are reincarnated to defend their books from “eroders”. Its 10th anniversary broadcast is on Saturday, October 24 at 18:30 JST, streamed on the DMM GAMES official YouTube channel. EXNOA says the show will carry new information for the game’s tenth year, and the official app listing says the game has passed 1.6 million registered players. That start time is 5:30 AM ET and 10:30 AM in the UK, so it lands in the middle of the US night.
The official event page lists the program as shot in front of an audience at the Animate Theater in Animate’s Ikebukuro store, with doors at 18:00 and the show on stage at 18:30. Reserved seats cost ¥7,000 with tax and came with a 10th anniversary gift set. Both the in-game ticket lottery for players and the general sale are already closed. The game’s own account is where the show was first announced, with the same date, the same venue and the same in-person format.
The listed cast covers the voice actors Tomoaki Maeno as Shiga Naoya and Shunichi Toki as Umino Jūsuke. Also appearing are Jirō Ishii, who supervises the game’s world building, pianist Kana Miyamoto for some segments, producer Kōhei Taniguchi, and Ken Washizaki hosting. Elec Famini Gamer also relays a rumor that a few special guests will appear, including an actor from the stage adaptation, though that part of the lineup is not confirmed.
On content, the show looks back at ten years of the game, shares the results of a pre-show survey and the team’s play data analysis, and announces new information for the anniversary. The same report expects the regular year-end new character reveal, the game’s annual tradition, to be part of it. That has form: last year’s equivalent, the 9th anniversary broadcast, was held on October 23, 2025 and also promised new game information. Elec Famini Gamer notes the service launched on November 1, 2016, which makes November 1, 2026 the 10th anniversary, the same date the game’s eighth-anniversary campaign began on.
Can you play it in English?
Partly. The official Android app on Google Play lists Japanese and English among its languages, and it carries an English description of the game as a literary reincarnation simulation. It is not on Steam, and there is no announced Western console or PC release, so the anniversary broadcast and anything announced on it will be in Japanese. Other Japan-first character games, such as PROJECT SIGN: Astraea, sit in the same boat, and we keep a running list at /coming-west/.

For a ten-year-old mobile game built around famous writers, a live stream that can add new content is a rare thing, and this one is watchable from anywhere on YouTube. The awkward part is the split: the show will be in Japanese, and while the app carries an English build, the game has no Western release. Most of the audience cannot play along with the announcements.
