Football Manager 27 will be free to play on PC and Mac from 6 p.m. GMT on October 29, 2026 until 6 p.m. GMT on November 3, Sports Interactive said on October 21. The five-day window is available on Steam, Epic and the Microsoft Store, and for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, with no sign-up required and every game mode available. It is 2 p.m. ET and 1 p.m. CT when the preview opens on October 29, and 1 p.m. ET when it closes on November 3.
Pre-orders open on the same day with 10% off, and anyone who buys during the free period keeps Launch Preview access from 6 p.m. GMT on November 3 until the full game launches. Saves started in the free period carry straight into the paid preview and then the finished game, so nobody has to start a career again. The discount and the continued access apply to purchases through SEGA-approved digital retailers.
The build is a different kind of test than the early-access versions Football Manager has used before. The Launch Preview is the free, near-final build that replaces what Sports Interactive previously called Beta or Advanced Access, and the studio says it is closer in quality and finality to launch than previous early play builds. It arrives with the clearer interface, the enhanced match engine and the training and touchline controls called Tactical Tweaks and Tactical Effectiveness. For example, the rebuilt engine uses Hawk-Eye Innovations data to overhaul how players accelerate and move, and new skill moves such as body feints, Elasticos and Heel Chops are tied to the Flair and Dribbling attributes. One caveat sits in the small print: because licensing approvals are still being worked out, some club and player assets may be absent from the preview.
The full game arrives on November 10 across Steam, Epic and the Xbox PC app, with FM27 Console on Xbox and PS5 and FM27 Mobile on Netflix also launching that day. FM27 Touch lands on Apple Arcade on November 10 for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV, and the existing FM26 Touch App Store page updates to FM27 Touch on the same date. Sports Interactive has not published a launch hour for November 10, and the Steam store page still lists the game as coming soon. On the licensing side, the Arkema Première Ligue, the pinnacle of women’s football in France, is fully licensed with official club logos, kits and player photos.
Football has a crowded run to November 10. EA Sports FC 27 added Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond this month. FreeStyle Football 2 set a December 3 launch. Rematch started its sixth season this week.
The free week is the cheapest way to find out whether FM27’s rebuilt match engine is worth a career restart, and the save carryover removes the usual preview risk of starting over on November 10. Two things are worth weighing against that. The 10% pre-order discount is advertised without a published price, so it is a smaller promise than it sounds, and the preview itself may be missing club and player assets while licensing approvals are still being worked out. Players who only want the console or Netflix editions get no PC and Mac preview to try first, which puts the November 10 launch squarely in front of them.
