No Man’s Sky is coming to iPhone and iPad on October 28, with pre-orders open in the App Store today. Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray announced the port in a blog post this morning, calling the iOS version “not No Man’s Sky Lite” — it’s the full game, including the Voyagers expansion and the September Cosmos update.
The mobile version supports iPhone 11 and 3rd-generation iPad Air and above, comes in at under 5 GB, and ships with rebuilt touch controls plus support for controllers, TV casting, and mouse-and-keyboard on iPad. The only features cut from the PC and console versions at launch are multiplayer and planetary settlements; both will follow the same path Hello took on Switch and then Switch 2, Murray said, based on feedback and player numbers.
The game will be free to try at launch; Hello Games hasn’t announced the full iOS price yet. There’s no word on an Android version, either, or on whether the missing multiplayer will eventually enable crossplay with existing PC and console players.
The port closes a 10-year loop: No Man’s Sky first launched on August 9, 2016, and has since landed on Mac, every modern console, and a VR version. iOS is the first major mobile platform for the game.
