Microsoft’s Xbox Nano Controller launched today, November 4, 2026, priced at $49.99. The compact gamepad measures slightly over five inches and weighs just 3.5 ounces. It is built for portability and smaller hands while keeping the standard Xbox button layout. As first reported by Windows Central, the controller is available now from the Microsoft Store, Amazon ($49.00), Best Buy ($49.99) and Walmart ($49.00).

It connects via Xbox Wireless or Bluetooth. It is compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows 10/11 PCs, Android, iOS, smart TVs and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Xbox Wireless is Microsoft’s proprietary low-latency protocol for controllers. Key features include a rechargeable internal battery (USB-C cable sold separately), an “Action Button” that can take screenshots, record clips or trigger in-game shortcuts, and the same build quality as full-size Xbox controllers — though it lacks rumble motors and Hall Effect thumbsticks. Hall Effect thumbsticks use magnetic sensors instead of physical contacts to prevent drift. The product page highlights Minecraft Dungeons II and Forza Horizon 6 as showcase titles. Microsoft announced the Nano last month on October 21.

At $49.99, the Nano sits $10 below the standard Xbox Wireless Controller ($59.99). It makes meaningful trade-offs: no haptic feedback, no Hall Effect sticks, and a smaller form factor that won’t suit everyone. For cloud gaming on phones or as a second controller for kids, the price and portability make sense. For primary living-room play, the missing rumble is noticeable. The Action Button is a nice touch borrowed from the Elite Series 2, letting you map screenshot, record or a game shortcut without reaching for the guide button. Windows Central’s Jez Corden went hands-on with positive early impressions. Compared to 8BitDo’s Ultimate 2C ($49.99) or the GameSir G7 SE ($44.99), the Nano’s advantage is native Xbox Wireless and Microsoft’s first-party build quality. Those competitors include Hall Effect sticks and rumble at similar prices today. Our Xbox Game Pass November 2026 roundup lists the new titles the Nano will play on day one. The Game Awards 2026 start time post has the showcase where Microsoft may reveal more hardware. Our Morning Save Point from this morning also covered the GTA 6 pre-load date that the Nano will support.
