Good morning. Pour the coffee: Night City is heading to theaters, Forza Horizon 6 finally has a PS5 date, and Rockstar just changed how you’ll listen to GTA 6. Here’s everything that happened while you were asleep (or “just one more run”-ing).

The big one

Cyberpunk 2077 is getting a live-action movie, and Paramount is making it. CD Projekt Red is partnering with Paramount Pictures on a film set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, the producer behind the Transformers films, is working on it alongside the studio. CD Projekt co-CEO Michał Nowakowski confirmed the partnership, saying the company is “excited about Paramount as a future partner who shares our creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise.”

There’s no cast, story or release window yet. Cyberpunk keeps growing all the same: a game that launched rough in 2020 now has a hit anime (Edgerunners), a Switch 2 port, a sequel in development, and soon a movie. The most-asked question online is whether Keanu Reeves, the game’s Johnny Silverhand, comes along. Nobody has said, so treat any casting talk as rumor until Paramount announces it.

Also happening

  • Forza Horizon 6 hits PS5 on January 26. It launches the same day as the game’s first major expansion, and PS5 Premium Edition pre-orders get five days of early access. That’s a smart date, well clear of GTA 6’s November 19 launch.
  • GTA 6 radio goes portable. Rockstar revealed six of the game’s radio stations, with previews on the official site, and confirmed a series first: podcasts. You’ll also be able to listen to radio and podcasts on foot through your character’s phone and earbuds.
  • Xbox launches “XP,” a new division for movies, merch and more. Mojang’s Kayleen Walters becomes President of XP. It covers Xbox Pictures (film and TV), Products, Partnerships and Places, and her background includes Lucasfilm and A Minecraft Movie. Maria Angelidou-Smith joins as CEO of Mojang and Minecraft.
  • Ubisoft is shutting down Rainbow Six Mobile on January 15, 2027, less than a year after its global launch in February 2026. Next week’s season still ships as planned.
  • Ace Combat 8 sold a million copies faster than any game in the series. Our full story has the details and the Steam reception.
  • Physical isn’t dead yet. Ampere Analysis data suggests 35% of Marvel’s Wolverine sales were on disc, and 51% in Europe. That’s awkward timing for Sony’s plan to phase out disc production by 2028.
  • Zelda Switch 2 restock at midnight. Best Buy will have limited Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 consoles and Pro Controllers at select stores for its Ocarina of Time midnight launch on November 5.

Out now

  • Clive Barker’s Hellraiser: Revival (Saber Interactive, $39.99 on PC). Reviews are seriously split: some critics call it a gem with a standout return from Doug Bradley as Pinhead, and others land around 5/10.
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen: Capcom’s expansion is out on all platforms ($29.99), alongside Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Switch 2 debut, which early reviews say is in excellent shape.
  • Xbox Free Play Days run through Sunday: ARC Raiders is free for every Xbox player to try, no Game Pass needed, and Game Pass members also get Screamer and Family Man.

Deal of the day

Red Dead Redemption 2 is $14.99 on Steam (75% off) until October 22. Arthur Morgan’s story for less than a large pizza. More bargains, including two free Epic games, are in today’s Deal Radar.

One more thing

Want the full GTA picture before November 19? The GTA 6 hub has the date, editions and every update, and our launch prep guide covers storage.

Our read: GTA 6 adding podcasts sounds small, but it’s a very Rockstar move. The series has spent 25 years satirizing talk radio. Now, for the first time, you’ll choose episodes on demand while you walk around Leonida. Expect at least one of them to be terrible on purpose.
