Stage Tour Hardware Guide: Kit Prices, Shipping Windows and Which to Buy

In short

1. Most players should order the $129.99 Game + Kramer Wireless Guitar Controller Bundle. It works on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. As a Game + Guitar Bundle, it is still in the December 1-10 shipping window.
2. Drummers want the $299.99 Band Kit Bundle (game, Kramer guitar, drum kit and a wired microphone), or the $349.99 Pro Band Kit, which adds three cymbals, a second kick pedal and a wireless microphone.
3. Every drum kit and every band bundle now ships December 11-31, after the December 10 launch, because the first allocation filled. The official community update says new orders move to the next window as each allocation fills.
4. Switch 2 owners should buy the guitar, skip the drums. RedOctane says its drum kits will not be available for Switch 2 at launch, and no date has been confirmed.
5. If you already own a guitar, you may not need to buy anything. The game itself is $39.99 on Steam, and a gamepad or keyboard covers every instrument through the Arcade modes.

Stage Tour launches December 10, 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. Our Stage Tour game page keeps the launch date and everything we have published in one place.

Every Stage Tour kit, and what it costs

Prices below are the US store prices on stagetour.com, checked on November 2, 2026. RedOctane sells direct, and game and guitar bundle pre-orders also run through Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart and Target in the US.

Digital PS5 owners have their own hardware-only line, with no disc and no game included: the Kramer guitar at $94.00, the Duo Kramer bundle at $164.00, the Band Kit at $264.00 and the Pro Band Kit at $314.00. You buy the digital game separately from the PlayStation Store.

What the drum kit does and does not include

The Stage Tour Drum Kit is four pads and a kick pedal, with an adjustable frame and low-latency wireless connectivity. It ships without cymbals, and RedOctane sells those separately, such as the $59.99 Pro Cymbal Expansion Kit with dedicated Hi-Hat, Crash and Ride cymbals. A second $29.99 Kick Pedal enables double-kick play.

Sensitivity is tuned per pad and per cymbal in the Stage Tour App. Drumming has two levels of content: standard Drums, and Pro Drums, which is the harder drum mode that adds cymbal notes to the chart and needs cymbals fitted to the kit. A few songs with fast double-bass sections use an Expert+ difficulty that expects two kick pedals.

If you own a MIDI electronic kit already, the $69.99 Drum Hub with MIDI Roadie Adaptor is the way in. It translates notes over MIDI Out and USB MIDI, and its USB-C auxiliary input can power a compatible kit when you have no external supply.

When your hardware actually arrives

Here is the part that trips people up. RedOctane’s own community update, published October 27 and updated October 29, sets out three rules:

• The first estimated shipping window is December 1-10. That is a shipping window, not a delivery date, and delivery adds 2-10 business days after your order ships.
• Drum kits and bundles that include drums have filled the December 1-10 allocation, so new pre-orders for them sit in the December 11-31 window. The window moves again each time an allocation fills.
• Game + Guitar Bundles are still in the December 1-10 window.

Pre-orders are fulfilled in the order they were received. RedOctane says it is working with manufacturing and logistics partners rather than fixing a factory problem. You can check your shipping address and cancel an order with your Purple Dot pre-order number at stgame.io/managepreorders.

The practical read: hardware bought now is a post-launch purchase. To give one case, a Band Kit ordered in early November is not scheduled to ship before December 11. If you want to play on launch day, buy digital on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox or Epic and treat hardware as a later upgrade. We covered the sell-out in our Stage Tour drum-kit shipping story, and the December 10 launch sits on our Release Calendar.

Switch 2: what works and what does not

The guitar side is fully covered. The $129.99 game and guitar bundle and the $109.99 Kramer controller both come in Switch 2 versions, and the Duo bundle is listed for Switch 2 too.

The drums are the gap. RedOctane says plainly that its drum kits will not be available for Switch 2 at launch, and that it is still working toward compatibility with no confirmed date. The hardware compatibility page also lists no legacy drum kits as confirmed for Switch 2. The one legacy guitar confirmed for the platform is the PDP Riffmaster for Switch. Arcade 4-Lane and 5-Lane are the instrument types designed for a standard gamepad controller or keyboard, so they cover the drums for Switch 2 players.

Already own a guitar or a drum kit?

Check the compatibility page before you spend $109.99. PC has by far the widest legacy support, covering Guitar Hero, Rock Band, CRKD and PDP guitars plus Rock Band and Guitar Hero drum kits, and some models need the official dongle or an adapter. Console support is narrower:

That table is where platform shopping gets awkward. The Rock Band 4 Wireless Drum Kit is listed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, while no legacy drum kit is confirmed for Switch 2 at all. The official store also sells three third-party controllers. The CRKD Gibson SG Midnight Blue Edition is $129.99, and the 8K Gibson Explorer 20th Anniversary Edition is also $129.99. The CRKD Gibson Les Paul Oxblood Edition costs $119.99 on PC or $129.99 on Xbox and PC.

Which kit should you buy?

• One player, one guitar, any platform: the $129.99 game and guitar bundle. It is the cheapest way to get the official controller, and it still ships before launch.
• Two players on guitars: the $199.99 Duo bundle. Check the Xbox listing before you order.
• You want drums: the $299.99 Band Kit, which is the full setup with a wired mic, or the $349.99 Pro Band Kit with cymbals, a second pedal and a wireless mic. Plan for a December 11-31 delivery either way.
• You already own a Rock Band or Guitar Hero kit: buy the game and check the compatibility list first. On PC, your old hardware probably works.
• Digital PS5 owner: the $94.00 hardware-only Kramer guitar, plus the digital game.
• Switch 2 owner: guitar bundle only, and play drums on PC or Xbox.
• Nobody wants to spend $110 before December 10: buy the game for $39.99 on Steam, where it was listed at $35.99 with a 10% discount when we checked, and use Arcade 4-Lane and 5-Lane with a gamepad.

If the console choice is still open, our guide to picking a platform covers what to ask before buying a console and a controller together.

FAQ

How much is the Stage Tour drum kit?

$199.99 on the official store for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Cymbals are extra: the Pro Cymbal Expansion Kit is $59.99.

Will Stage Tour hardware arrive before the December 10 launch?

Not necessarily. The December 1-10 window is a shipping window, and delivery adds 2-10 business days. Drum kits and band bundles are already in the December 11-31 window.

Is there a Stage Tour bundle for Nintendo Switch 2?

Yes for guitars: the $129.99 game and Kramer guitar bundle and the $199.99 Duo bundle are listed for Switch 2. There is no Switch 2 drum kit at launch.

Do I need to buy hardware to play Stage Tour?

No. The game supports a gamepad or gaming keyboard, and it plays solo or with up to four players locally or online.

Can I use my Guitar Hero or Rock Band guitar?

Often, on PC. The official list covers Guitar Hero, Rock Band, CRKD and PDP guitars and Rock Band and Guitar Hero drum kits on PC, with some models needing a dongle or adapter.

Does the drum kit come with cymbals?

No. The kit is four pads and a kick pedal. The $59.99 Pro Cymbal Expansion Kit adds Hi-Hat, Crash and Ride cymbals, and a second $29.99 Kick Pedal enables double-kick play.

Is there a Stage Tour bundle for a PS5 without a disc drive?

Yes. RedOctane sells PS5 hardware-only bundles without a disc and without the game: Kramer guitar $94.00, Duo $164.00, Band Kit $264.00 and Pro Band Kit $314.00.

How much is the game itself?

$39.99 on Steam, which was showing a 10% discount to $35.99 when we checked on November 2, 2026. Digital pre-orders are live on Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Epic.

We analyzed the official Stage Tour catalogue against the $39.99 game-only price on Steam. The gaps are what the decision comes down to: the guitar bundle costs $90 more than the game, the Band Kit costs $260 more, and the Pro Band Kit $310 more. That is also why the game and guitar bundles are the ones still shipping inside the December 1-10 allocation: they are the cheapest commitments and the least exposed to the drum-kit backlog that pushed new band-bundle orders into December 11-31. Buying the three pieces of the Band Kit separately costs $329.97, the guitar at $109.99, the drum kit at $199.99 and the wired microphone at $19.99, so the $299.99 bundle saves $29.98 and covers a whole band.
