Platforms

Evercold arrives on Windows, Mac, Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. A subscription is required to play, and registering the expansion grants Evercold, Endwalker and Dawntrail. The free trial cannot register an expansion.

What Evercold adds

The expansion’s own site lists two new jobs: Bastion, a main tank who fights with a skyltborg, and Zephyr, a physical ranged damage dealer with a crossbow. Both are limited to Evolved Mode, the new battle option built to show off each job, while Reborn Mode keeps the current combat system. The level cap rises from 100 to 110.

There is also a new alliance raid series, EVANGELION – Ghosts of Desire, a second raid series called Beyond the Lifestream, a new Ultimate raid, and Fierce, an eight-player raid difficulty that slots between Normal and Savage. Two new cities, Fargarth and Hjartadunur, sit aboard four giant airships called Realmships.

What this means for you

Pre-ordering is what gets you the February 19 early access, so the decision is a four-month plan instead of a purchase decision. The Standard Edition at $44.99 is the cheapest route into the content, and the Collector’s Box is a physical-goods purchase with no game inside it. Our Evercold editions guide compares the four in detail, and our launch story covers the date move.

We analyzed Square Enix’s own product page for this hub, and the prices, edition contents, pre-order bonuses and platform list all come from that page. The interesting part for players is that the early-access hour, roughly 1 a.m. Pacific on February 19, lands three days before launch, so the Collector’s Edition buyers who pre-ordered will be playing the new content on a Friday night. Square Enix also has not published a launch hour for February 23, and the FFXIV maintenance schedule is where we track server windows. The game page at /game/final-fantasy-xiv/ carries the basics, and February 23, 2027 is on our release calendar.
