Nagoshi Studio has been formally dissolved, and the notice is now on the public record. Kanpo is Japan’s official gazette, where legal notices are published, and on November 2, 2026 it ran the studio’s dissolution announcement in extra edition No. 240. That confirms a resolution passed at the shareholders’ meeting on October 31. Japanese outlet 4Gamer has the gazette filing details.
Set up in 2022 with 100% investment from NetEase Games, the studio unveiled Gang of Dragon at The Game Awards in December 2025. The game casts Ma Dong-seok as Shin Ji-seong, a high-ranking member of a Korean crime syndicate working the streets of Kabukicho, which is the iconic nightlife district of Shinjuku, Tokyo.
The game has no announcement attached to the closure. Gang of Dragon’s Steam page is still live, still lists Nagoshi Studio Inc. as both developer and publisher, and still shows a release date of “Coming soon”. It never had a confirmed date, so there was nothing for our release calendar to list, and no cancellation notice was posted.
We asked the same question when EA closed BioWare, but EA folded the game and the studio into one memo. No announcement has come with the dissolution so far. The Steam page’s support address, [email protected], no longer resolves, and where Nagoshi goes next is open, though opening a new studio after a cancellation is a known route. For now, the store page is the only official record left standing.
