Rematch Season 6 went live at 7 a.m. PT, 10 a.m. ET and 3 p.m. UK time on October 23, 2026, replacing the old Player Level system with ten Contracts, action-based Badges and a new set of profile rewards. Rematch is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and through Xbox Game Pass.

Contracts are the new progression tiers. They run from Baller to Icon. Players earn experience in online matches, level the current Contract and choose three Badges to complete its requirements. Ranked play unlocks at the Amateur Contract, while anyone who reached Player Level 5 or higher starts Season 6 at Amateur. Legacy Rewards convert previous progress into caps and profile cosmetics instead of throwing that work away.

The rest of the update is less dramatic but useful. Quick Chat now separates compliments, apologies and tactical messages, and push-to-talk is the default voice-chat mode. Vanguard and Glitch cosmetics and the Clouds Sunset arena are also in. Sloclap says Netcode 2.0 will roll out progressively through the season; the rework is designed to reduce desyncs and rollbacks, but it is still in beta and adds 50 milliseconds of input delay.

Rematch’s new season lands in a busy football month. Elsewhere, EA Sports FC 27 added Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond, FreeStyle Football 2 set a December 3 launch, and the EA Sports FC 26 FIFAe Finals were postponed.

The meaningful change is that progression now measures what a player did, not just how many matches they finished. For example, a goalkeeper can build around save-related Badges, while an attacker can take a different route to the same Contract. That gives returning players a reason to reshape their profile instead of carrying over one number. The catch is that the netcode overhaul is not live yet, so the complaints it targets will not disappear on launch day.
