Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting an arcade version in Japan. SEGA confirmed Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Arcade via the official SEGA JP Bluesky on October 13, 2026, posting a photo of the development cabinet alongside the announcement. The Japanese X account for the game, CrossWorldsJPN, also confirmed the title and described it as designed for the vertical big-screen format unique to game centers.

Details are thin. SEGA only said the cabinet is built to deliver the high-speed racing of the home game in an arcade-friendly form factor and that more information is coming. The home version, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, launched worldwide on September 25, 2025 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2 and PC, and is currently running Year 2, which added Godzilla, Evangelion and Final Fantasy VII Remake crossover DLCs and a free update with Bayonetta and Aigis from Persona 3 Reload.

Can you play it in English?

The arcade version is only announced in Japan for now, and SEGA has not said whether it will expand to arcades outside Japan. The home game remains the way to play Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds in English today. We will update this story if a Western or English-language release is announced; you can also follow the Coming West tracker for Japan-side game news.

Our read: this is a confirmation that a new arcade cabinet is in development, not a release date. Japanese game-center cabinets often stay Japan-exclusive for the life of the hardware, so Western players expecting to see Sonic Racing in their local arcade should not hold their breath until SEGA says otherwise.
