Charting the Unknown is the first paid expansion for Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss’s open-world action-adventure, and it goes live at 22:00 UTC on Thursday, October 29, according to the global release times Pearl Abyss posted on Steam today. That’s 3 PM PT, 5 PM CT and 6 PM ET in the US. In the UK it’s 10 PM GMT, and in Berlin and Paris it’s 11 PM. Players in Tokyo and Seoul get it at 7 AM on Friday, October 30.

Every city on the studio’s map unlocks at that one moment, so there’s no staggered rollout. The DLC launches on Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and the Epic Games Store. The Steam listing prices it at $24.99, and Inven Global lists the Korean price at 27,800 won. The full city list from Pearl Abyss’s graphic is below.

Pearl Abyss says a base-game update patch ships at the same moment as the DLC, and it asks players to install that patch before launching the game. Korean outlet Inven Global, citing the studio’s announcement, reports that only the PlayStation Store supports pre-downloads, opening 24 hours before launch. Downloads on the other stores open at release.

Pre-orders are still open on every platform until launch. They come with the Charter’s Diving Set for Kliff and Oongka and the Charter’s Light Diving Set for Damiane.

The Steam page describes a ship you can sail, new islands off the coast and underwater exploration with sunken ruins and treasure. On land, you can rent and manage facilities to earn money, build a home with the upgraded Housing mode, and deepen relationships with people in Pywel. New story threads follow Kliff, Oongka and Damiane.

The expansion was first dated for October 15, then Pearl Abyss pushed it two weeks on October 1, citing polish and stability. It’s the first paid DLC for the game, which launched in March and later got the Enhanced version revealed at Gamescom in August.

Put together, the schedule favors Americans: it lands in the early evening on a Thursday in the US, but after 11 PM in continental Europe and the next morning in Asia. For example, a PlayStation player in Berlin can start the pre-download on Wednesday at 11 PM and be ready to play the moment the clock hits 11 PM on Thursday.

Pearl Abyss hasn’t said how long the story content runs, so there’s no hour count to quote yet.
