The Jackbox Party Pack 12 launched today on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Apple TV, iPad, and the Mac App Store for $29.99, developer Jackbox Games confirmed in its official press release. The pack brings five new 2-8 player games designed for phone-based play, where everyone uses a personal device as the controller while the main screen runs the show.
The five games are:
- We Forgot a Card (Design, Joke-Writing): craft ridiculous greeting cards for weird occasions. There’s a stretch goal where players can buy the cards they designed IRL.
- MegaPals (Speed, Guessing): a mind-melding game that asks how well you know how your friends think, with explosive match-ups and impulsive wordsmithing.
- Debate and Switch (Presentation, Head-to-Head): a town hall tourney where you argue both simple and outlandish topics until one side persuades the room.
- Idol Factions (Teamwork, Trivia): two teams race to sort answers into categories before the other side yells them out.
- Hyperface (Head-to-Head, Photoediting): warp selfies or stock photos to answer prompts like “your face when you’ve just seen a bear.”
Each game runs 15-20 minutes, and audience play-along scales the player count up to 10,000. Jackbox says the family-friendly mode and optional moderation settings are part of the package.
The pack follows Party Pack 11, which released on October 23, 2025 at the same $29.99 price. Mac support has been standard on the Steam build since 2014, but Party Pack 12 is the first entry with an explicit Mac App Store distribution on day one, separate from the Steam build. Jackbox Games’ launch trailer lives at you.be/erSGzH50G54, though the company’s trailers have historically been blocked from in-page embedding on third-party sites.
Today is a stacked launch day for the kind of social play Party Pack 12 is built for. Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse just hit PC and console, House Flipper 2 launched on Switch 2 with 4-player co-op bundled, and Tales of Eternia Remastered’s worldwide launch follows tomorrow for anyone building a couch-co-op weekend. If you’re looking for a low-stakes game to wind down with after the heavier October 15 launches, Party Pack 12 fills that gap well: phones are the controllers, so the room can stay split between hardcore players and casual observers.
Our read: Party Pack 12 sticks to Jackbox’s standard formula: phones as controllers, a $29.99 buy-in, and five games that swing between silly prompts and high-energy trivia. The Mac App Store edition on day one is the smaller-but-real change this year, since prior Mac players have had to rely on Steam builds or emulators for the same experience. If you’re deciding between this and last year’s Party Pack 11, the headliner is We Forgot a Card, which lets you order physical greeting cards after the game, a hook that fits Jackbox’s track record of turning joke prompts into things you can actually buy. Audience play-along for up to 10,000 people is the other sleeper feature: streamers running a stream night can let chat vote on prompts in real time without buying extra seats.
Correction (October 15, 2026): We originally said Party Pack 11 shipped in October 2024. It actually launched on October 23, 2025, and Mac support has been standard on Steam since 2014.
