The Wolf Among Us Remastered launches on October 29, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox One (playable on Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility) and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. It is Telltale’s rebuild of the 2013 narrative thriller based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comic, licensed from DC by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Telltale’s official product page lists all five episodes, a new Noir Mode and a package of bonus material. The Nintendo Switch version is delayed past October 29 with no new date, and physical retail editions follow in early 2027.
Fabletown is the city where characters from myth and legend live secretly among ordinary New Yorkers, and the remaster is the story of Sheriff Bigby Wolf investigating a murder there. It is a single-player game, and the whole story comes in one package this time rather than the episodic release shape the original shipped in.

Telltale and PM Studios confirmed the price and the platform list in their October 20 launch announcement: “The Wolf Among Us Remastered arrives October 29 at $24.99 USD.” The bonus material is unusually large for a remaster. It includes five fully playable Lost Scenes, which are scenes that were cut and are now playable, an art gallery of more than 100 images, over an hour of behind-the-scenes developer interviews, developer commentary and restored content.
Who pays what
| If you | You pay on launch | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Own the original on Steam, Epic or Xbox | 50% off | Buy on the same store and account and the owner price shows automatically |
| Own the original on PS4 digital | 50% off, with the PlayStation discount on top | The owner price shows automatically on the PS Store page |
| Are new to Fabletown | 20% off on Steam, Epic and Xbox, so about $19.99 | The launch discount applies to everyone |
| Are new on PlayStation without PS Plus | 30% off | Non-members get the bigger PlayStation discount |
| Play on Switch | Nothing yet | No date, no price, and no demo |
The launch discount table is the page that settles the owner question. Buy the remaster on the same platform store, with the same account, that you used for the original game and the discount applies by itself. Physical copies of the original cannot be verified, so they do not qualify.
For example, the owner discount is the whole reason the launch discount table exists. On Steam, Epic and Xbox the remaster costs $24.99 for everyone, 20% off for new players and half price for people who already own the original on the same store and account. Steam has no price on its store page yet and Valve has published no Steam Deck rating for the game, so these are the publisher’s launch prices rather than store prices we have seen today. Compare that with the Switch version, which has no date at all, and the practical advice is simple: buy on the platforms that launch on October 29, and wait on Switch until Telltale gives that version a date.
What this means for you
If you bought the 2013 release digitally, the remaster is half price, which makes it the cheapest way to play the story that made Telltale’s name. New players pay about $19.99 during the launch discount. Steam owners can try the full first episode, “Faith”, free through October 26. Valve has not published a Steam Deck rating yet, so handheld players should wait for that verdict.
