  1. Dates: World of Warcraft’s Hallow’s End runs October 19 to November 2, 2026, according to Blizzard’s official event post.
  2. Where: trick-or-treating is live in nine regions: Azeroth, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Draenor, the Broken Isles (Dalaran), the Dragon Isles, Khaz Algar and Quel’Thalas.
  3. What’s new: themed neighborhoods, Midnight Candy Buckets in Quel’Thalas, a neighborhood Candy Crawl, and a fresh set of eight achievements.
  4. The headline reward: a daily chance at the Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Charger Skyriding mount, plus one guaranteed piece of the Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Armor transmog set every day, with no duplicates.
  5. The deadline worth knowing: the armor set has nine pieces and one lands per day, so a full set needs nine days of queueing. Starting today, October 26, you can claim eight before the event closes on November 2.
  6. The other date: World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on November 4, two days after this event closes.

When does Hallow’s End start and end in 2026?

Blizzard published its 2026 event guide on October 19 and gave a single two-week window: October 19 through November 2. The studio’s WoW Weekly roundup on October 23 repeated the same dates, so two official posts agree on the window. Blizzard attached no start hour, so the event opens with the first server tick on October 19 and closes on November 2.

Hallow’s End is the Forsaken holiday. Blizzard describes it as a celebration of the Forsaken’s break from the Scourge, with the Innkeepers of Azeroth handing out treats and tricks.

Where can you trick-or-treat?

Blizzard lists nine regions for the 2026 event, and each one has Inns to visit:

Region What Blizzard says to do there
Quel’Thalas Midnight Candy Buckets are scattered around the region for tricks and treats
Drustvar, Duskwood, Felwood Each neighborhood gets one of three random themes, plus a holiday hub, a Wickerman and a piñata
Founder’s Point, Razorwind Shores The Community Candy Crawl runs here for 15 minutes every hour
Undercity Holiday vendor Echo sells spooky decor, and Zidormi in Tirisfal Glades can show you the Undercity as it was
Stormwind Holiday vendor Jack sells spooky decor for gold
Azeroth, Northrend, Pandaria, Outland, Draenor, the Broken Isles (Dalaran), the Dragon Isles, Khaz Algar Innkeepers hand out candy and holiday currency across the zones

What’s new this year?

Blizzard’s post lists four headline additions:

  • Midnight Candy Buckets scattered through Quel’Thalas, a new variant of the usual candy bucket.
  • Hallow’s End haunts in your neighborhood. Each neighborhood is randomly assigned a theme, with themed cosmetic features, candies and daily quests from Nomi. A breadcrumb quest called “A Haunted Home” points you to Yin in your own neighborhood.
  • Neighborhood Tricky Treat Traders. You exchange Neighborhood Candy for Tricky Treats, and vendors post a fresh rate every day, so the best deal moves around.
  • The Community Candy Crawl, a neighborhood world quest. It runs for 15 minutes every hour around Founder’s Point and Razorwind Shores, where buckets appear outside occupied player plots. Collecting 10 Neighborhood Candy earns experience, 2 Tricky Treats and 3 Neighborhood Candy.

A Neighborhood Contribution bar fills as players take part in neighborhood quests. As it fills, festive decorations appear and more Haunted Candies become lootable from the neighborhood Candy Bucket.

What can you earn?

Tricky Treat is the event’s holiday currency. You earn it from trick-or-treating and trade it at the vendors for gear, decor and weapons.

Four daily quests carry the event’s repeat rewards:

Daily quest What you do What you get
Trick-or-Treating Clean up Discarded Wrappers around the neighborhood Candy Buckets More Haunted Candies from the Neighborhood Candy Bucket
Ghost Busting Hunt ghosts with quest-earned Ghost Gear, fill the Ghost Tank, then portal the Shade of Seabreaker Skoloth into a chest Tricky Treats and Neighborhood Candy
You’re a Spider, Man Use Webspinner Egg Sacs to turn into a spider for 3 minutes and spin up to 10 webs Neighborhood Contribution
Wickerman Piñata Candy Collection Add 10 candies to the piñata near Yin and the Wickerman, then whack it Neighborhood Candy, bonus candy and Trick Treats

Blizzard also lists 12 holiday decor items for sale at four vendors: Jolli Maxiboom in Razorwind Shores, Holly Twinklebright in Founder’s Point, Echo in the Undercity and Jack in Stormwind. The catalog runs from a Simple Hallow’s End Candle and a Buckled Witch Hat to an Elaborate Heartsbane Doom-Catcher. Returning items include the Patched Harvest Golem transmog pieces that used to drop from the Headless Horseman encounter. A transmog set is an outfit you can wear on any character.

How does the Headless Horseman encounter work?

This is the part with the hardest deadline. Blizzard says characters from level 10 through 90 can queue for the encounter in the Dungeon Finder while the event runs. One random piece of the Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Armor transmog set drops every day, and duplicates are not possible. The Skyriding mount, the Headless Horseman’s Ghoulish Charger, comes from the daily challenge rather than from the guaranteed piece.

The set has nine pieces: Helm, Grips, Cinch, Cowl, Treads, Breastplate, Cloak, Greaves and Mantle.

Do the arithmetic before you commit. Nine pieces at one a day means a full set needs nine days of queueing. A player who queues every day from the October 19 opening finishes the set on October 27. Starting today, October 26, there are eight days left before the event closes, so eight of the nine pieces are still available.

Does Hallow’s End run in World of Warcraft: Forever?

Not in this window. Blizzard’s event post covers the live game, and World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST, two days after this event closes. Blizzard has not said whether Hallow’s End will run in Forever.

If you are deciding where to spend your first week, the split is simple. Halloween rewards are live now, and Forever’s launch content starts on November 4. Our World of Warcraft: Forever pre-purchase guide covers the subscription and upgrade options, and our ruleset guide explains the Normal, PvP, Roleplaying and Hardcore rulesets that decide how a new character plays.

What should you do before November 2?

  • Queue for the Headless Horseman every day. Nine pieces, one a day, no duplicates.
  • Buy the holiday decor early. Vendors stock 12 items for gold, and the cheaper pieces go first.
  • Work the Candy Crawl in off-hours. It only runs 15 minutes every hour, so it fits between raid nights.
  • Bank your Tricky Treats. The Horseman’s Ghoulish Great Blade, Blade and Bulwark cost 100 Trick Treats each at the vendors.
  • Plan the launch week. The Release Calendar has the November 4 date, our Forever pre-launch checklist covers what to sort first, and our PC requirements page covers whether your GPU will run it.

We counted what Blizzard put in the post: nine regions for trick-or-treating, three neighborhoods with random themes, four holiday vendors selling 12 decor pieces, eight new achievements, and nine pieces in the Headless Horseman armor set. That last number drives the whole plan. One guaranteed, duplicate-free piece arrives per day, so a player who queues every day from October 19 finishes on October 27, while a player starting on October 26 can only reach eight pieces before the event closes on November 2. For example, the mount is the flashier reward, but the armor is the one with a deadline attached, and it is the reason to log in daily rather than once.
