The 2026 FIFAe Finals in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, originally scheduled for October 16 to 25, have been postponed with no new date announced.
FIFA and the Saudi Esports Federation posted the decision jointly Wednesday, saying it “follows an assessment of recent developments in the region and their impact on the logistical arrangements required to stage the tournament.” The statement did not specify those developments or name a rescheduled window.
PocketGamer.biz, which first reported the postponement, said Japan and Brazil had already pulled their national esports teams from the field over the security situation in Saudi Arabia, citing Reuters. Players and teams that had traveled or were preparing to travel to Jeddah now wait on a new date.
The Jeddah postponement is the region’s third major tournament disruption this year. The 2026 Esports World Cup, originally planned for Riyadh, was moved to Paris earlier in 2026. The inaugural Esports Nations Cup, also Riyadh-based, was pushed from November 2026 to November 2027.
