Japanese outlet Denfaminicogamer was first to write up the new gameplay trailer for Nyra and the Garden of Moros, an indie open-world action game from solo developer Resting Relic that openly wears its Shadow of the Colossus influences on its sleeve. The 90-second clip landed on the studio’s YouTube channel on October 16, with Denfaminicogamer’s breakdown following on October 18.
The trailer shows protagonist Nyra riding a loyal wolf named Rama through a moody, post-imperial landscape and climbing twelve giant “Keepers” — gigantic creatures of earth and stone that guard the seals used to imprison the doom god Moros. Keepers come in humanoid, dinosaur and quadruped shapes, and the Colossus parallels are explicit: studio lead Joe, posting under the Resting Relic account on X, called Shadow of the Colossus “the greatest game ever made and one of my biggest inspirations,” adding that he started making his own game when he could not find enough titles built in the same mold.
Where Nyra splits from Team ICO’s formula is the choice baked into every Keeper fight: players can take a destructive, simpler path to break the seal, or the harder one of absorbing it into Nyra’s body to free the creature.
Can you play it in English?
The Steam page already lists English with full audio plus Spanish, French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese alongside Japanese; Resting Relic is self-publishing and Windows PC is the only platform announced so far, with no release date yet.
