PUBG is getting a live-action series at Netflix. KRAFTON announced on October 30, 2026 that the battle royale is in development as a television adaptation, with Emmy and Golden Globe winner Donald Glover writing, directing, executive producing and starring.
Glover will develop the project with his brother Stephen Glover, who is attached as a writer and executive producer. The producer list also names Michael Schaefer of NEON TV, Fam Udeorji of Gilga, and Taeseok Jang and Sujin Lee of LV3H, the entertainment entity KRAFTON is using to expand its game IP into original entertainment content.
The game itself is untouched by the announcement. PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS, which launched on Steam on December 21, 2017 and, in KRAFTON’s words, globally popularized the battle royale genre, is still a free-to-play live service. KRAFTON calls PUBG its best-selling game and says the franchise holds seven Guinness World Records.
Netflix has not announced a title, a cast beyond the two Glovers, a filming start or a release date, and there is no word yet on whether the series will retell PUBG’s story or build a new one around the world of the game.
