Death Stranding: Isolations has its first teaser trailer, and Kojima Productions says the hand-drawn animated series will stream exclusively on Disney+ in 2027. No exact date inside that year has been announced.
The studio shared the 46-second teaser and new details on October 30, during its 10th anniversary celebration, BEYOND THE STRAND: The Odyssey of Creation and Endeavor, at Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo. The series was announced for Disney+ at a Disney+ Originals Preview at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, where Hideo Kojima and director Takayuki Sano took the stage, so today’s reveal expands that announcement rather than setting a premiere. It adds a screenwriter, a specific place and time for the story, and a first look at the animation.
The Chiral Network is the means by which Sam reconnects the continent, and the story picks up in North America right after that. A young man and a young woman set out on an adventure separate from the games, and the new synopsis centers on a girl who prefers being alone. Other Death Stranding projects are planned, such as the animated film Death Stranding Mosquito and a live-action feature film adaptation with A24.
Takayuki Sano directs, E&H production handles the traditional hand-drawn 2D animation, Tow Ubukata is writing the series, and Ilya Kuvshinov designed the original characters. The Death Stranding series, including Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, has passed 27 million players worldwide as of June 2026, and the Beyond the Strand exhibition opens October 31.
