Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting New Game+ on Thursday, November 5, Ubisoft said in its Fall 2026 franchise update on October 29. Ubisoft says Valhalla has now passed 40 million players, and it called New Game+ one of the community’s most requested features.
Valhalla is on Steam as well as consoles. New Game+ lets you restart the story and carry over much of your progression, with dedicated scaling for the replay. The update also adds an optional progression mode where Gear, Runes and Masteries all contribute to Eivor’s overall Power. Ubisoft listed new runes, achievements, a stash system and new rewards, including a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s look in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. A new resource called Mithril upgrades Divine Gear and strengthens runes, and Divine Gear quality now applies to all items.
Ubisoft said full details will come in the patch notes, along with news about current-generation console updates “in the coming days.” It didn’t say whether New Game+ comes to every platform on November 5, so wait for those notes before assuming it does.
The rest of Ubisoft’s update
The post, written by Head of Content Jean Guesdon, also answered questions about what comes next:
| Topic | What Ubisoft said |
|---|---|
| Other remakes | No other Assassin’s Creed remake is actively in development, though the “door remains open” |
| Codename Hexe | “Steady progress”; next major update in 2027 |
| Codename Invictus (multiplayer) | Still in development, being reworked toward more Assassin’s Creed pillars after Insiders feedback |
| Black Flag Resynced | Final major update is out, with New Game+ and Nightmare Mode; only quality-of-life patches planned |
| Netflix series | Production nearing completion in Rome; no release date |
| 20th anniversary | A year of reveals and rewards starts in 2027 |
Resynced came from Ubisoft Singapore, which also figures in our earlier report on Ubisoft’s job cuts. Ubisoft also opened a new community survey, linked in the post.
The remake answer is the line most fans will care about. Black Flag Resynced is the franchise’s first remake and taught the team a lot, Ubisoft says. A second one isn’t in the works right now. It points instead to new settings and stories in projects nobody has heard about yet. If you were hoping for a Resynced-style Valhalla or Origins, that is a no for the foreseeable future. For example, Valhalla’s New Game+ is the consolation prize, and Ubisoft says feedback on it will shape similar updates for other games in the series.
