Microsoft’s Xbox Store has a live page for Sword of the Sea, and the store’s own catalog puts the release date at October 29, 2026 at 16:00 UTC (noon ET, 11 AM Central). Output Lag reported the same timestamp from the catalog. Giant Squid has not announced an Xbox version, and the listing is not buyable yet: no purchase button, no price, no Game Pass label.
The publisher field is the surprise. The store page’s legal line reads “© 2026 Created and developed by Giant Squid, Inc. Published by Fictions, Inc. under exclusive license.” Fictions is a working publisher with its own site, fronting Tales of the Shire. Giant Squid published Sword of the Sea itself on PlayStation 5 and PC, where it launched on August 19, 2025 and still costs $29.99 on Steam.
The Xbox page does list a feature set: 4K Ultra HD, 60 fps+, optimized for Xbox Series X|S, achievements and cloud saves, an ESRB Everyone 10+ rating, 11 languages including Japanese and Korean, and a download size near 5.2 GB. The storefront page still shows no date; the October 29 timestamp sits in Microsoft’s catalog data, last changed October 22. For example, that 11-language list means this is not an English-only port. The store date is on our Release Calendar.
No date, price or trailer has been confirmed by the studio, and store dates can move before a listing goes live. Treat October 29 as the current plan rather than a promise.
