Planet Zoo 2 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S), $49.99 standard, $64.99 Deluxe. Frontier Developments’ full sequel to the 2019 management sim unlocks worldwide at 3pm BST (10am EDT, 7am PDT), with pre-loads live now and our release time post and PC specs guide already live.
Valor Mortis (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S). One More Level’s Napoleonic-era first-person Soulslike, published by Lyrical Games, after a delay from September 24. A PC demo has been on Steam since June.
Thursday, October 15 (the heavy day)
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch; plays on Switch 2 via backward compatibility), $29.99 standard, $39.99 Midnight Edition. Konami’s new 2D action-exploration Castlevania, made with Evil Empire and Motion Twin and set 23 years after Castlevania III. A free demo is out now. On Steam it unlocks at 9 PM Pacific on October 14 (midnight Eastern, October 15); our release time post has the details.
Enshrouded (PC, PS5), $39.99 on Steam. After roughly 33 months in Early Access, Keen Games’ survival-craft RPG hits 1.0 and launches on PS5 the same day, with PS5 Pro support. An Xbox Series X|S version is planned for Spring 2027. The original Early Access launch was January 24, 2024.
It Takes Two (Switch 2). Hazelight’s 2021 Game of the Year has been on the original Switch since 2022; the new Switch 2 version, made with Turn Me Up Games, adds higher resolution, better frame rates and richer effects, and Switch owners can upgrade for free. The free Friend’s Pass still means only one of you needs to own it.
Ratatan (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2). The rhythm-roguelike from Ratata Arts and TVT leaves Early Access on the same day it lands on consoles, after a delay from July 16. It’s the spiritual successor to Patapon, and Early Access saves carry over to the full version.
Toy Story 3 Complete Edition (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2), $24.99 digital. Digital Eclipse and Atari’s remaster of the 2010 tie-in, with upgraded graphics and frame rate, Zurg playable in Toy Box mode, and four extra Theme Packs. A clean family-game pickup.
Bluey’s Happy Snaps (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2). Gameloft Brisbane’s photography adventure: you use Dad’s old camera to explore Brisbane locations and fill a scrapbook, and a second player can join in local co-op to pose for photos. There’s no online play and no in-game purchases.
Friday, October 16
Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 Remakes (Switch 2, digital). Capcom’s Switch 2 versions of Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition arrive digitally, with all previously released DLC for RE2 and RE4 included. Physical editions follow on January 29, 2027.
Tales of Eternia Remastered (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2). Bandai Namco’s remaster, developed by TOSE (Tales of Graces f Remastered), adds quality-of-life options like destination markers and boosts. It’s out October 15 in Japan.
Our pick of the week: Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse
Our read: Two things make this stand out in a week that otherwise leans on ports and 1.0 updates. The first is the price. $29.99 for a new Konami-published Castlevania is a meaningful change of pace, and the $39.99 Midnight Edition adds digital content on top. The second is that it’s an all-new 2D Castlevania rather than another collection, with familiar bosses like Death, Medusa and Carmilla alongside new ones such as Joan of Arc. The free demo lets you try it before you buy.
The bigger question is what this signals for the rest of Konami’s 2026 and 2027 slate. Silent Hill is getting a second and third wave of games (per the company’s own October statements),, and Konami says it has “much more in store” for Castlevania in its 40th anniversary year. Belmont’s Curse is a test of whether the Castlevania audience will show up for a new 2D game at a smaller price, in the same week as Planet Zoo 2 and the RE remakes on Switch 2.
For a fuller list of the next 120 days, see our release calendar.
Correction (October 12, 2026): We originally listed Castlevania for Switch 2 and said It Takes Two had never been on a Nintendo platform; Castlevania is a Switch game, and It Takes Two came to Switch in 2022.
