FreeStyle Football 2 launches December 3, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, with three paid editions live for pre-order on Steam right now: Standard ($29.99), Deluxe ($39.99), and Ultimate ($69.99). Every edition gets a 10% pre-order discount (Standard drops to $26.99, Deluxe to $35.99, Ultimate to $62.99) until launch. Most players should pre-order Standard and wait; Deluxe earns its $10 upgrade if you want three days of early access and the FEROX Wrestling Set; Ultimate only makes sense if you already know you’ll spend $69.99 or more in cosmetics anyway, or you want the Death Game Set on day one.
The Korean studio Woore and publisher JOYCITY are betting on 5v5 role-driven soccer, character-specific moves, and city pitches built around “iconic landmarks” rather than EA Sports FC 27’s full-pitch simulation. We’ve already covered the pre-order launch and the three-edition reveal, and the game’s entry on our Release Calendar.
Quick answer
- Standard ($29.99) is the right call for anyone who wants to try FreeStyle Football 2 before deciding on anything else, with a 10% discount knocking it to $26.99 right now.
- Deluxe ($39.99) is worth the $10 upgrade for players who plan to play at launch and want to be online by November 30 (three days early), plus the cosmetic FEROX Wrestling Set and a 5,000 Reyal + 500 Prism currency bundle to skip the opening grind.
- Ultimate ($69.99) is the collector/whale tier: 8 Character Holograms, the Death Game Set, and lifetime premium item access. It only makes sense if you already know you’ll burn $69.99 or more on the in-game store, otherwise you’d be buying cosmetics you won’t use.
- There is no physical edition and no upgrade path. Standard cannot be upgraded to Deluxe or Ultimate later, and there is no disc, cartridge, or collector’s box. Don’t assume you can top up.
What the three editions are
| Edition | Price (USD) | Pre-order price | Launch format | What’s unique |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $29.99 | $26.99 | Digital only | Base game; ZEPHYR + HORIZON pre-order sets |
| Deluxe | $39.99 | $35.99 | Digital only | Everything in Standard; 3-day early access (Nov 30); FEROX Wrestling Set; Deluxe License profile icon; 2 Player Recruit Tickets; Prism x500; Reyal x5,000 |
| Ultimate | $69.99 | $62.99 | Digital only | Everything in Deluxe; Death Game Set (4 items); 8 Character Holograms; Lifetime Free Ultimate Items; Premium Pass Ticket; larger Prism + Reyal bundles |
All three editions are digital-only on Steam. There is no PS5 disc, no Xbox disc, no Nintendo eShop version. PC players grab it through Steam; PS5 and Xbox Series go through their respective stores.
According to the Steam store page, the 10% pre-order discount runs through the December 3 launch, which is JOYCITY’s standard practice for first-party publishes. After launch, the price will settle at the listed $29.99 / $39.99 / $69.99.
The pre-order bonuses (free for all editions)
Every pre-order of any edition gets two cosmetic sets, per the Steam store page:
- ZEPHYR Set is a bundle of cosmetics themed around the ZEPHYR character or branding. Specific items aren’t broken out on the Steam page; treat it as a starter cosmetic pack.
- HORIZON Set is a second cosmetic bundle, similarly themed around the HORIZON identifier. JOYCITY hasn’t published item-by-item descriptions for either set on the store page.
If you’re pre-ordering, the ZEPHYR and HORIZON sets are essentially free extras on top of whatever edition you pick. They don’t change which edition you should choose.
What’s actually in Deluxe: the FEROX Wrestling Set and the early access
Deluxe has two upgrades worth talking about: time, and cosmetics.
- Three days of early access starting November 30. This is the bigger one if you plan to play online at launch. Most live-service online games are at their best right when the population is fresh, and starting three days early gets you in ahead of the December 3 wave. By the time the Standard players arrive on Dec 3, your account will have the early unlocks and the players you’ll be matched against will know the maps.
- The FEROX Wrestling Set is a cosmetic set inspired by pro wrestling styling. JOYCITY hasn’t itemized every piece on the store page, but cross-promotions of this type typically include character outfits, emotes, and visual effects. It’s a fashion upgrade, not a gameplay one.
- Currency bundle: Prism x500 and Reyal x5,000. Prism and Reyal are FreeStyle Football 2’s in-game currencies: Prism buys premium cosmetics, Reyal is the soft currency. x500 Prism and x5,000 Reyal buys out the first week of cosmetic grinding.
- Deluxe License profile icon is a profile flair that tags your account as a Deluxe edition player.
- 2 Player Recruit Tickets open two new character recruit slots, useful for roster completion in the game’s live-service meta.
Deluxe’s cosmetics are nice but not gameplay-relevant. Its real value is the November 30 unlock. If you’re not planning to be online that week, save the $10 and pick Standard.
What’s in Ultimate: the Death Game Set and 8 Character Holograms
Ultimate layers every Deluxe bonus with the top-end cosmetics:
- Death Game Set (4 items). Themed around high-stakes tournament play, again without per-item descriptions on the Steam page; treat it as a four-piece premium cosmetic pack.
- 8 Character Holograms. Eight hologram-style cosmetics tied to specific characters. These are visual flair on the pitch.
- Lifetime Free Ultimate Items. This is the unusual one: Ultimate players get ongoing in-game store access for premium items that Standard or Deluxe players would need to earn or buy separately. It’s the closest thing FreeStyle Football 2 offers to a subscription-style perk, but it’s a one-time purchase, not a recurring fee.
- Premium Pass Ticket. A premium-tier pass token that unlocks the current and likely next season’s premium track for free, similar to a Battle Pass skip.
- A larger Prism + Reyal bundle. Bigger than Deluxe’s starter bundle.
For most players, $69.99 is a lot of money for cosmetics and a battle pass skip. The “Lifetime Free Ultimate Items” perk is the meaningful long-term value if you already know you want every premium item as it comes out. If you’re picking FreeStyle Football 2 to dip your toe into the JOYCITY soccer pitch, Standard is the same game mechanically, with the same maps and the same modes.

Game Pass, PS Plus, and upgrade paths
FreeStyle Football 2 is not on Game Pass, PS Plus, or any subscription service at launch, and JOYCITY hasn’t announced a post-launch subscription plan. The publisher sells the game direct via Steam, PS Store, and Microsoft Store, no middleman.
There is no upgrade path: once you pre-order Standard, you can’t upgrade to Deluxe or Ultimate later from inside the same Steam account. If you change your mind, you have to buy the higher tier separately. JOYCITY’s 10% pre-order discount is the only mechanism that prices the editions separately; nothing is replayable mid-launch.
There is no boxed or collector’s edition. PlayStation and Xbox players get digital-only access on their respective stores.
System requirements and pre-load
PC minimum: Intel Core i5-9400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500X, GTX 1650, 16 GB RAM, 60 GB storage, Windows 11 64-bit. Recommended lands on i5-12400 or Ryzen 5 5600 with an RTX 2070 and the same 16 GB / 60 GB envelope, per the Steam store page. The 60 GB allocation is on the high side for a 5v5 online game, but it leaves room for post-launch content patches.
PlayStation and Xbox run on the platform’s last-gen/this-gen standard: PS5 and Xbox Series X|S confirmed. There’s no PS4 or Xbox One version. No Switch port has been announced.
Pre-load is not confirmed in any official JOYCITY posting at the time of writing. Watch the FreeStyle Football 2 Steam news feed for pre-load availability closer to launch.
Who should get which
Get Standard ($29.99) if: you want to try the game out at launch without committing to cosmetics, you’re curious whether the 5v5 role-driven format clicks for you, you don’t care about early access, or you don’t want to spend $69.99 on day one. Pre-order before Dec 3 to grab it for $26.99.
Get Deluxe ($39.99) if: you know you’re playing FreeStyle Football 2 at launch and want three days of early access, you value cosmetics that tag you as a launch player, or you’re sold on the role-driven 5v5 idea and want the soft-currency bundle to skip the opening grind. Pre-order at $35.99 saves you $4.
Get Ultimate ($69.99) if: you already play other JOYCITY live-service games at the Ultimate tier and you’re sure you’ll spend the cash on the in-game store anyway, you want every premium item the moment it comes out, or you’re a content creator / streamer for whom the Ultimate cosmetics are part of the brand kit. Otherwise, the value-at-launch is mostly cosmetic, not mechanical.
Skip the pre-order entirely if: you’re not sure about FreeStyle Football 2 yet. The 10% discount is only 10%. Waiting until reviews and the demo surface tells you whether the 5v5 pitch works.
Our read
The honest answer here is that Standard at $26.99 pre-order is the cleanest call for most players. FreeStyle Football 2 is a multiplayer-only live-service soccer title, and committing $69.99 to cosmetics before launch is the kind of decision most players regret at least once. The Deluxe tier earns its $10 if you specifically want the November 30 unlock, and that’s the right reason: cosmetics and currency bundles don’t age well, but three days of early access at the start of a live-service pop is hard to put a price on.
Ultimate at $69.99 is the JOYCITY whale tier. It’s set up to be the better deal if you’d spend $69.99 anyway on the in-game store over the first season, but for the average soccer-game buyer it’s overshoot. The Lifetime Free Ultimate Items perk is genuinely worth more than the listed alternative, so if you know you’re a long-term player, the math eventually tips toward Ultimate. If you’re on the fence, Standard at the 10% discount is the safe play.
There’s also no collector’s edition, no physical copy, and no upgrade path. JOYCITY made the editions deliberately disjoint to push pre-order decisions. Plan accordingly, because once you click Pre-Order, you can’t reverse it.
