Image: 2K

Updated October 19, 2026 to add the Nintendo Switch 2 version launching October 28, including Game Key Card retail, GameShare/GameChat, and cross-platform Community Creations, all from the official 2K press release and Wikipedia.

Quick answer

  1. Buy the Standard Edition ($69.99) if you want the full WWE 2K26 game at the lowest price. Includes the Joe Hendry Pack pre-order bonus, the CM Punk 2K Showcase, all four new match types, the 400+ roster, and the free Ringside Pass tiers. PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC pre-orders also unlock a digital copy of WWE 2K25.
  2. Buy the King of Kings Edition ($99.99) for seven-day early access (March 6 vs March 13, 2026), a playable Triple H ’98 + Stephanie McMahon ’00, Ringside Pass Premium Season 1, and 32,500 VC. Best mid-lotife pick.
  3. Buy the Attitude Era Edition ($129.99) if Stone Cold, The Rock ’99, Kane ’98, and Chyna ’97 are must-plays. Includes Seasons 1-4 of Ringside Pass, the Raw is Walk ’98 Arena, 200 MySUPERSTAR attribute points, and 100,000 VC.
  4. Buy the Monday Night War Edition ($149.99) only if you want the WCW legends (Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Goldberg, Booker T, Eric Bischoff), the WCW Thunder ’98 Arena, Ringside Pass Premium Seasons 1-6, and the WrestleMania 42 Pack entitlement. Otherwise, the next-attitude-era step down is closer to value.

What each edition actually adds

WWE 2K26 is built on a tier system: the higher-priced editions layer on extra playable Superstars, MyFACTION cards, arenas, virtual currency, and Ringside Pass seasons. Everything from a lower tier is included in the next one up.

Standard Edition: $69.99. This is the full game. Ringside Pass is WWE 2K’s post-launch progression system, a free + premium tier ladder that replaces the paid DLC model from WWE 2K25. Per the 2K announcement, the base game ships with the 2K Showcase Punked narrated by CM Punk (the Showcase is the series’ career-story mode), the new I Quit / Inferno / Three Stages of Hell / Dumpster match types, the 400+ roster with John Cena, Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, Cody Rhodes, and AAA superstars via the Ringside Pass mechanic. Creation Suite jumps to 200 Create-A-Superstar slots and 2,000 image slots. MyGM, MyRISE (“The Comeback”), Universe with the WWE Draft, The Island (first time on Windows), and MyFACTION “Chemistry is Key” all ship on day one. Pre-ordering the Standard on PS5, Xbox, or PC also unlocks a digital copy of WWE 2K25 and the Joe Hendry Pack (Joe Hendry playable + EVO MyFACTION card + Spin Island Emote + themed attire).

King of Kings Edition: $99.99 (March 6 early access). Adds the King of Kings Pack (Triple H ’98 + Stephanie McMahon ’00 + Triple H Signature Taunt Emote), Ringside Pass Premium Season 1 (40 extra tiers of unlockables), and 32,500 VC to spend in-game. The biggest mechanical difference is the seven-day head start on March 6, while Standard owners wait until March 13, 2026. Worth it if the early access alone matters to you.

Attitude Era Edition: $129.99 (March 6 early access). Builds on King of Kings and adds the Attitude Era Pack (The Rock ’99, Kane ’98, Chyna ’97, plus the Raw is War ’98 Arena and “Rattlesnake” / “People’s Champ” MyFACTION EVO cards). It also unlocks Ringside Pass Premium Seasons 1-4 instead of just Season 1, adds the Superstar Mega-Boost (200 MySUPERSTAR attribute points for the MyRISE career mode), and drops 100,000 VC into your account. The big draw is the Attitude Era legends: Stone Cold, The Rock, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Lita, Kurt Angle, and The Dudley Boyz are all in the base roster as Legends, but the pack adds era-specific versions and the Raw is War ’98 Arena.

Monday Night War Edition: $149.99 (March 6 early access). The “super-premium” tier. Adds the Monday Night War Edition Pack with WCW legends (Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Goldberg, Booker T, Eric Bischoff, plus Shawn Michaels DX, Macho Man Randy Savage ’98, Rowdy Roddy Piper ’98, the WCW Thunder ’98 Arena, and Diamond Dallas Page’s “Bang!” Emote), Ringside Pass Premium Seasons 1-6, and an entitlement for the WrestleMania 42 Pack (WrestleMania 42 Arena + three WrestleMania 42 Superstar Persona Cards) automatically unlocked post-launch.

Nintendo Switch 2 specifics

Per Wikipedia’s WWE 2K26 page, the Switch 2 version launches October 28, 2026 (three days after this article was last updated), ported by Shiver Entertainment. The retail release uses a Game Key Card instead of the WWE 2K25 code-in-a-box setup (the WWE 2K26 x Street Fighter Elite Pack DLC also launches October 28). Switch 2-exclusive features include:

  • Touchscreen and mouse support in the Creation Suite (face and body painting)
  • Single Joy-Con play for local multiplayer
  • GameShare and GameChat support
  • Image Uploader and cross-platform Community Creations (so Switch 2 players can use creations from PS5/Xbox/PC users)

The Switch 2 release doesn’t have a separate press release confirming multi-edition pricing on Nintendo eShop at this writing , check the Nintendo eShop listing on or after October 28 for Switch 2 edition details.

the pre-order window

During the January 29 to February 23, 2026 pre-order window, Attitude Era Edition or Monday Night War Edition buyers on PS5 or Xbox got 15,000 VC in WWE 2K26 + 67,500 VC in WWE 2K25. That window has closed, but pre-orders of any edition still ship the Joe Hendry Pack and (on PS5/Xbox/PC) the WWE 2K25 digital copy.

What the Ringside Pass actually is

Per the 2K announcement, Ringside Pass replaced WWE 2K25’s paid DLC model. Standard owners get 60 free tiers of rewards (Superstars, cosmetic items, MyFACTION and The Island items, VC). Premium tiers add the next and replace 40 tiers of unlockables that include exclusive playable characters from the WWE 2K Supercharger. Six Ringside Pass Seasons are planned across the year, with Ringside Pass Season 1 free plus access to previously paid Supercharger Superstars on the free tier. After the monetization backlash on launch, 2K changed DLC to automatic unlocks, lowered the EXP required per level, and gave everyone 20 free levels.

Which one should you buy?

  • Single-player and casual players: Standard at $69.99. You get the full game, the Joe Hendry Pack, and the free Ringside Pass tiers. The 32,500 / 100,000 VC in the higher tiers doesn’t matter if you’re not chasing leaderboards.
  • Wrestling fan who wants to play on day one: King of Kings at $99.99. The seven-day early access alone (March 6 vs March 13) is the reason to upgrade.
  • Attitude Era nostalgia: Attitude Era at $129.99. The Rock ’99, Kane ’98, Chyna ’97, Raw is War ’98 Arena, and four Ringside Pass seasons make the $30 step-up worth it.
  • WCW fans or going for the full set: Monday Night War at $149.99. The Hogan / Nash / Hall / Goldberg / Booker T roster is unique to the edition mode; if you’ve been waiting to play as WCW ’98 Goldberg in a modern engine, this is the only edition that delivers it.

Frequently asked questions

Does WWE 2K26 have a physical copy? Yes. Per Wikipedia, the Switch 2 retail version is a Game Key Card instead of a code-in-a-box (the WWE 2K25 setup). PS5, Xbox, and PC Standard Editions are digital-only at launch; physical copies were not announced in the 2K release.

Will there be a Season Pass? No standalone Season Pass. The Ringside Pass Premium Seasons 1-4 (Attitude Era) and Seasons 1-6 (Monday Night War) are bundled with the upper tiers. Six Ringside Pass Seasons are planned across the year per the 2K release.

When does WWE 2K26 come out on Switch 2? October 28, 2026, per Wikipedia. The PS5/Xbox/PC versions launched March 13, 2026 (see our MW4 release-time guide for the same Oct 23 launch unlock format).

Which edition is the best for a kid? Standard at $69.99. The CM Punk Showcase, Faction Kane ’98 / The Rock ’99 in the Attitude Era pack are locked to higher editions but the base 400+ roster already includes John Cena, Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley, Cody Rhodes and the rest of the current WWE roster plus Legends.

Is WWE 2K26 on PC Game Pass? No. WWE 2K26 was not announced for Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass in the 2K release and is not listed on the Xbox Game Pass catalog at this writing.

Does WWE 2K26 have crossplay between Switch 2 and PS5/Xbox/PC? Cross-platform Community Creations are supported on Switch 2 per Wikipedia, so Switch 2 players can download creations from other platforms. Full online crossplay between Switch 2 and other platforms was not announced in the 2K release; online matchmaking is expected to be within console family at launch, similar to how Modern Warfare 4’s crossplay launched with PS5/Xbox/PC but not Switch 2 online at first.

How big is WWE 2K26 on Switch 2? File size for the Switch 2 version was not in the post-by-tag 2K release. Check the Nintendo eShop listing on or after October 28 for the official download size.

We analyzed 2K’s January 30, 2026 WWE 2K26 announcement and Wikipedia’s WWE 2K26 page (version history through October 2026) to pin down what’s in each edition and where the boundaries are. The edition gap is mostly stacked: $99.99 King of Kings buys seven-day early access, $129.99 Attitude Era buys Attitude Era legends and four Ringside Pass seasons, $149.99 Monday Night War buys the WCW legends and the WrestleMania 42 Pack entitlement. The Standard Edition at $69.99 is the right pick for the majority of players. The Joe Hendry Pack and free Ringside Pass tiers cover most of what the higher tiers offer, and 2K’s post-launch monetization changes (automatic DLC unlocks + 20 free Ringside Pass levels) mean the Premium Pass gap is narrower than it was in WWE 2K25. The Switch 2 launch on October 28 is the only meaningful new question this week, with Game Key Card retail, GameShare/GameChat, and cross-platform Community Creations are real Switch 2 hardware features per Wikipedia, and full crossplay between Switch 2 and PS5/Xbox/PC was not announced at launch.
