BeamNG.drive, the soft-body physics driving sim that’s been a fixture of Steam Early Access since 2015, launches on PlayStation 5 today alongside the v0.40 update. According to the official press release, the PS5 version ships with FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 support on the base console and PSSR on PS5 Pro, plus a new vehicle and local split-screen co-op for two players.
The PC version picks up the same v0.40 features at the same time, including the split-screen mode. BeamNG notes that mods won’t be supported on PlayStation at launch, and there are no current plans for mod-authoring tools on the platform. The studio is around 90 people in Bremen, Germany, and BeamNG.drive has been continuously updated on Steam for the past decade.
The PS5 release is Early Access only (BeamNG hasn’t announced a full 1.0 exit date), and it joins the existing PC build under the same Early Access banner, with both versions updated in lockstep going forward. Pricing and the PS Plus availability aren’t called out in today’s release; the PlayStation Store listing carries the current price.
