Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 preloads begin rolling out tonight at 9 PM PT (midnight ET), Activision confirmed today. The full game unlocks October 23 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with campaign Early Access opening a week earlier on October 16 for digital preorders of either edition.
PC unlocks at midnight local time on October 23, a simultaneous global rollout. DMZ, Modern Warfare 4’s extraction mode, opens on October 20 for preorder customers. The preload starts at 9 PM PT in Los Angeles tonight and rolls west: midnight ET, 5 AM BST, 1 PM JST, and 5 PM NZDT.
The Digital Standard Edition costs $69.99; the $99.99 Digital Vault Edition adds both Operator Packs, the Signature Weapon Collection, one season of BlackCell, and the DMZ Deployment Bonus. A $69.99 Physical Standard Edition ships without Early Access. Activision’s system requirements list 115 GB of SSD space on PC, and the new Warzone is bundled with Modern Warfare 4 but won’t unlock until Season 1.
Activision hasn’t said whether Modern Warfare 4 will join Game Pass or PS Plus, or if Vault Edition preorders will get extra time beyond the October 16 campaign Early Access window.
