Cygames’ new small-to-mid studio label CygamesEdge launched a free Steam demo for its debut title Where the Seeds Fall (Japanese: 崩落の国) on October 16, and confirmed the game’s Japanese price at ¥1,100 (about $7.30) ahead of a November 5 launch on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. The release date and ¥1,100 price were first reported today by Automaton and Game Watch and confirmed by 4Gamer.

The game, developed by Cygames’ internal Zereo team, is a high-difficulty descent action game set on a World Tree where humanity fled the Blighted surface. A soldier and a child branded an omen of disaster work together to climb down toward the surface world. The core loop is platforming with hand-to-flower-bud combat: players pick up buds, throw them ahead, and use the resulting blossoms to cushion otherwise fatal drops. The main story is designed to run about three hours, with harder maps and a time trial mode after the credits. The demo strips out story and drops players straight into 15-30 minutes of unlocked high-difficulty action.

CygamesEdge is the Granblue Fantasy, Uma Musume, and Shadowverse publisher’s new label for small- and mid-sized experimental projects, and Where the Seeds Fall is its first title. The brand launched at State of Play on September 3, 2026, where the game was first dated for November 5. A final trailer dropped alongside today’s demo. It joins a small wave of internal labels opening this year, including Arc System Works’ new TAKUMI fighting-game studio announced earlier this month.

Can you play it in English?

Yes — and you can already play the demo. The Steam page for Where the Seeds Fall (appid 4139580) is fully in English and lists English as a supported language, and the game is launching simultaneously worldwide on November 5, not as a delayed Western port. The page does not list any Japanese-only restriction on text or voice, and PS5 and Switch 2 versions are region-free. A US or UK dollar price has not been announced; the official Japanese Steam page lists ¥1,100 and other regions will inherit it through Steam’s regional pricing at launch. The English demo (appid 5024030) is also live now on Steam.
