What’s in 1.0 and the PS5 launch
Enshrouded has spent more than two and a half years in Steam Early Access and now exits with the full Embervale map unlocked. Keen Games opened the previously closed gates past the Veilwater Basin into a new high-level area called Cinder’s Cradle, with lava flows and floating islands of Ancients architecture above the ruins, plus two new Hollow Halls (one in the Albaneve Summits, one in Veilwater Basin), many new sub-regions in Springlands, Blackmire and Kindlewastes, and new main-quest lines that close out the mystery of the Shroud corruption. Combat reworks add mana drain, entangle, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, four summon totems and a Hollow Skeleton summon, while the Flame level cap moves from 9 to a new tier and the player level cap reaches 45.
The PS5 launch is day-one: PS5 players get the same 1.0 build, the same Cinder’s Cradle, and the same combat reworks.
Cross-platform play is not on at launch. Keen Games has confirmed crossplay is in development but gave no timeline, so PC and PS5 players will be playing in separate ecosystems for now. Existing PC Early Access saves will carry over after a one-time conversion to the new save format, though Keen Games suggests a fresh start since the world and early-game areas have been substantially rebuilt.
Early Access buyers get three exclusive decorative props (a four-meter Embervale statue, an Early Access “E” tome, and a hero-summoning signal). They can also place those props in post-launch worlds of newer players; newcomers can drop the props but not place them themselves.
Price and editions
Enshrouded launched on PC at €39.99 / equivalent on Steam. The PS5 launch carries the same retail price. Existing PC owners do not need to rebuy for 1.0. The Steam page is also still running the Early Access PVE Survival Crafting Fest discount through October 8, after which the price reverts to the release number.
Our read: Keen Games is treating 1.0 like a real sequel launch, not an EA graduation. The single global clock avoids the staggered timezone rollout that catches players on PS5 launches, and the simultaneous PC/PS5 drop is what readers have wanted since the EA reveal in 2023. Watch for a post-launch patch or two if Cinder’s Cradle balancing overshoots — Keen said it will be tuning “the Fell Dragon Youngling and other formidable guardians” based on community feedback in the first days.
