Good morning. The GTA VI marketing machine keeps turning, the holiday calendar is suddenly very crowded, and an actor who once played a blind lawyer has just spent forty hours doing a Sega voice role he can’t talk about. Here’s what you need to know on this Friday, October 9.
The big one
Rockstar Games has named the first six in-game radio stations for Grand Theft Auto VI, and they’re promising the series’ “biggest and widest-ranging selection of in-game radio yet.” Cocoteo FM, Back Country Radio, AfroBank FM, The Chamber 106.6, Flash FM, and Dirty South Classics cover everything from talk radio to classic rock, and you can sample them right now on Rockstar’s GTA VI music page.
The bigger headline is the format: for the first time in the series, GTA VI will ship with on-demand in-game podcasts that you can listen to while driving around Leonida (fictional Florida). It fits the realism push Rockstar has been selling since the first Netflix extended look, and it lines up with a soundtrack that already includes Yung Lean, Travis Scott, and more. Grand Theft Auto VI launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and preorders are live.

Charlie Cox has been recording 40 hours for an unannounced Sega game. The Daredevil star told IGN at New York Comic Con that he’s done voice work on a Sega title that doesn’t have a name yet, and the team only realized on day one that he was English, not American. His character is American; his accent was not. Cox’s last game role, Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, took him four hours. Full story on IGN.

Out today
The big release is Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, Capcom’s paid expansion that brings new content to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and ships bundled with the base game on Switch 2. We wrote up the launch this morning. Smaller arrivals on PC include Permafrost (early access), Paperhead, Cozy Meowmory, and Lost & Found, plus an update for Star Conflict.
Deal of the day
Destiny 2: The Final Shape is $1.59 at Fanatical, down from $19.99 (92% off). It’s the highest-Metacritic pick of the day at 89, and if you’ve ever been curious about the current Destiny 2 era this is the cheapest the expansion has ever been. The deal runs through Fanatical; grab it before the next sale cycle.
One more thing
The funniest detail of the week: the Charlie Cox anecdote. Imagine booking Charlie Cox for a game role, doing zero homework on his actual accent, and then finding out at the first recording session that your leading man is going to do forty hours of dialogue in a voice he has to invent on the spot. Whoever cast him is buying everyone Slurpees for the rest of the year.
