Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave is getting an Expansion Pass on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems revealed today, with the first wave of DLC going live the same day. The game is part of Pixel Herald’s full release calendar and launched as a Switch 2 exclusive in September alongside other Switch 2 titles heading to the system this fall like Harold Halibut and 007 First Light.

The Expansion Pass rolls out in three waves. Wave 1, available now, adds four additional weapons for the four Flame Lords (Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda), prototype weapons modeled after the Heroes Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Wave 2 arrives this holiday and adds wearable outfits plus three new allies: the gods who once ruled Dagda, which Fortune’s Weave players can call on for help during the story’s final act. Wave 3, slated for 2027, is the biggest piece of the pass: new story, new allies, new classes, and a new arc following Bertrand, Talimun, Orchel, and Anatolia.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launched on September 17, 2026 as the 18th mainline Fire Emblem game, set in the same world as Three Houses on the continent of Dagda. The expansion ties back to that Three Houses lineage from the opening wave: the Heroes Relics were Sacred Weapons in Fódlan tied to the Crest-bearers, and Fortune’s Weave already borrows the Sothis thread by bringing the progenitor goddess back into the cast. Wrapping those callbacks into prototype weapons for the four Flame Lords is a deliberate bridge between the two worlds.

Pricing for the Expansion Pass has not been listed on Nintendo’s store yet, and the eShop page for the base game does not yet break out a separate DLC SKU. Nintendo’s pattern with previous Fire Emblem Expansion Passes (Three Houses, Engage) is to sell the pass as a single up-front purchase with all waves unlocked, then release each wave on schedule, with Wave 1 going live the same day the pass is announced is consistent with that pattern.

Our read: Wave 1 being a same-day drop is a real hook. Most Expansion Passes stage the first content weeks or months after the announcement, so Nintendo giving players something tangible to install the moment they buy into the pass is the kind of structural detail that matters to players deciding whether to pre-purchase. The Three Houses callbacks in Wave 1 also read as a soft pitch to lapsed Fire Emblem fans who bounced off the Switch entries: if you remember Sword of the Creator or Thunderbrand, the new weapons are explicit mirrors, and the Wave 2 god-allies slot neatly into a Three Houses-style post-game allies system. Whether the 2027 arc lands depends on how well the new characters (Bertrand is already set up as a future route’s antagonist; Talimun, Orchel, and Anatolia are less established) carry a fresh story outside the four Flame Lords’ stories.

Wave 1 is available today, October 14, 2026. Wave 2 follows this holiday season, and Wave 3 arrives in 2027.
