Bandai Namco Entertainment will host a Gundam Game 40th Anniversary Livestream on the Gundam Channel YouTube on October 28, 2026 at 8:00 PM JST (7:00 AM ET / 11:00 AM UTC). The 90-minute program is the centerpiece of a year of 40th anniversary events for the Gundam games franchise, which traces its start to the August 1986 release of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: Hot Scramble on the Famicom.

The livestream will run about 90 minutes, split into three blocks. The first, roughly 60 minutes long, is the home console game block, and the lineup is the Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation series and GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT. A 15-minute mobile game block follows, anchored by SD Gundam G Generation Eternal. The final 15 minutes covers other related information. Voice actor Genki Okawa is the MC. The show streams on the official Gundam Channel at youtube.com/live/cOETrluHFt0.

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is the most relevant piece for Western players. The Bandai Namco-published mecha action game is up for pre-purchase on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S for a March 4, 2027 global launch. The Steam page lists English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish support, plus eight other languages. The standard edition is priced at $59.99 with a $79.99 Deluxe Edition that adds a Mission Reward Booster, Mobile Suit Color Pack, and Premium MOD Skins Set. The 1986 40th anniversary framing is a clear signal the broadcast will bring new footage, a pre-launch trailer, or both. GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is on the Pixel Herald release calendar.

The Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation series is the more complicated half. The free-to-play 6v6 mecha action game has run on PS3, PS4, and PS5 since 2012, but it has stayed in Japan and Asia with no English localization. The 60-minute block is the most likely place to see a new entry, a new season, or both. SD Gundam G Generation Eternal is the current mobile gacha and is available globally on the App Store and Google Play with English text in some regions. Neither of the latter two is on the Coming West? tracker; Battle Operation has never received an English localization in its 14-year run.

Can you play it in English?

GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is confirmed for a global release in March 2027 with full English support on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation series has never received an English localization, and Bandai Namco has not announced one. SD Gundam G Generation Eternal is available in English on mobile in some regions, but the mobile gacha’s regional availability can shift. None of the three games has a confirmed Western dub of the October 28 stream, so Japanese audio is the safe assumption; the Gundam Channel YouTube stream itself is region-free.

Our read: The headline for Western Gundam fans is that GUNDAM ROGUE ORBIT is one Bandai Namco stream away from its final pre-launch push. Four months out from a March 4, 2027 release, an Oct 28 livestream with a fresh 40th anniversary trailer would line up with the publisher’s usual T-minus-four-months marketing window for big action games. The same publisher’s Japan-only PS5 Digital Edition in Midnight Black launches November 19, and ROGUE ORBIT sits on Sony’s confirmed November-December launch slate for Japan. Battle Operation is the wildcard: a 60-minute block for a Japan-Asia-only mecha game in a 40th anniversary broadcast is either a new entry’s reveal or a major season, and either would be the first major news for the series in years. If you only watch one of the three blocks, the first 60 minutes is the one Western players will be quoting the next day.
