Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is getting more than one new paid DLC character, Bandai Namco has confirmed in a second-anniversary roadmap shared ahead of the game’s October 11 milestone.
Fans noticed on October 9 that the publisher’s official Sparking Zero anniversary post refers to “new paid DLC featuring playable characters” in the future roadmap, with the plural hinting that more than a single fighter is on the way. A separate Dragon Ball official site post outlines the same window of content for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam), Switch, and Switch 2, and clarifies that the new Tower of Power Solo mode arrives this winter, with the Tower of Power Team-up mode planned for around Spring 2027.
The biggest live-service addition is Cross Play, which is set to enter a limited beta phase after Summer 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. The post also points to upgraded Mission 100 SP and Survival Mode SP versions for fighters trained in the Limit Breaker Journey system from the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC.
The Super Limit-Breaking NEO expansion is already live on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, with the Switch and Switch 2 versions “to be released at a later date” per the official Dragon Ball site. The DLC added a roster of new characters and the Limit Breaker Journey single-player mode earlier in 2026. Developer Spike Chunsoft has shipped a 180+ character base roster since launch on October 11, 2024.
Our read: The same anniversary pattern shows up across other live-service fighters and racers this fall. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves locked in its Season 3 finale DLC this month, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds rolled out its full Year 2 pack schedule in early October, and Battlefield 6 Season 5 is layering in Dead Space and a server browser in the same window. The plural “playable characters” line in Bandai’s post suggests Sparking Zero is being treated as a real content pipeline through 2027 rather than a one-fighter farewell, with the crossplay beta finally arriving more than two and a half years after launch. For a Budokai Tenkaichi-style party fighter that lives or dies on having someone to play against, that wait has been the loudest complaint in community channels since day one. See the October 2026 release list for what’s landing on the calendar this month and the full release calendar for everything else confirmed through 2027.
