Patch 5.01 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered is rolling out today across all platforms, with Nintendo Switch 2 finally getting the headline fixes players asked for since the remaster launched in late September. CD Projekt Red confirmed the rollout to outlets this morning.
The Switch 2 specific changes adjust image sharpening and resolution to “improve visual clarity and fidelity.” That addresses blur players flagged in handheld mode. The patch also fixes a rare crash when changing between in-game regions, HD rumble dropping out on the left Joy-Con 2, and a Cross-Platform Mod cache handling bug.
Across every platform, 5.01 brings a long list of gameplay, UI and visual fixes pulled straight from CDPR’s patch notes. The “Automatically Apply Blade Oils” toggle now persists between sessions, player-controlled boats no longer ignore terrain in specific circumstances, the Exploding Shield skill now actually reflects damage, and a Synergy skill display bug is sorted. Visual fixes touch Bloom, tone mapping, character lighting, ray tracing and path tracing, with new Bloom, Light Shafts and Depth of Field options added to graphics settings. A rare save file corruption bug also gets a fix in this build.
Patch 5.00b went out on October 1 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox Play Anywhere PC version. Today’s 5.01 brings the Switch 2 build in line with the other consoles. CD Projekt Red has not announced any new expansion or DLC in this patch.
