Osaka-based indie publisher PLAYISM (a brand of Active Gaming Media) has announced Dyping Working: Task Manager, a new spin-off of the free horror-typing game “Dyping,” targeting a 2027 release on Steam. Developer Heaviside Creations revealed the game today, October 13, with no English outlet yet picking it up; only Japanese outlets Automaton and Denfaminicogamer have covered the announcement, both citing a PLAYISM press release. The game joins our Coming West? tracker as a confirmed English Steam release.

In Dyping Working, the creepy “Eyeball” from the original series follows you out of the typing game and onto your desktop. It forces you to sign a pledge that reads “I accept all surveillance related to my work.” Once you sign, the Eyeball tracks your mouse cursor, the tabs you open, and your general activity, and punishes any slacking off when your work session ends. There’s a Pomodoro-style timer in the game, plus over 10 original songs, a customizable Eyeball skin, and a cameo from the cat of the original series. The conceit, per PLAYISM, is that being watched keeps you focused.

The original Dyping is a free browser horror-typing game that has been played over 700,000 times. Its expanded Steam follow-up Dyping Escape launched in March 2026 and currently sits at “Very Positive” on Steam, with about 91% of roughly 560 user reviews positive. The Dyping Working Steam page is already up for wishlisting, and PLAYISM has posted a 20-second announcement trailer on its YouTube channel. Heaviside Creations teased the project on October 10, Japan’s “Eye Health Day,” before today’s formal reveal.

By the numbers: The 700,000+ free plays of the original Dyping and Dyping Escape’s 91% positive rating on roughly 560 reviews give PLAYISM a small but engaged audience for a 2027 follow-up; the 2027 window lines up on our Release Calendar alongside other Japan-published PC indies like Bless You Again and BUZZ or DIE.

Our read: PLAYISM has built a real niche bringing the stranger end of Japanese indie games to Western players, and a “work horror” spin-off of a 700K-play series fits that catalog well. Dyping Escape was a Steam hit earlier this year, so a 2027 follow-up is well-timed for the audience that found it.

Can you play it in English?

Yes. The Steam page is in English and PLAYISM publishes in English worldwide, with no region locks. Dyping Working is PC only, with a 2027 release window listed on the Steam page.
