Wales Interactive and Stormind Games have announced Sker: The Bleeding Veil for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, with a launch window of Q2 2027 (April through June). The reveal trailer debuted at the IGN Fall Fan Fest 2026 showcase, which lands the same week as the ID@Xbox indie showcase (#813).
The game is a first-person, stealth-focused survival horror set in the Sker universe, picking up after the events at Sker Hotel. The story is set in 1924, with protagonist Gareth Morgan returning to the orphanage he knew as a child in search of his younger sister Elin. Sister Gwenllian, the ritual-bound antagonist, has reunited the former orphans around a belief rooted in the “Siren’s Song,” leaving Gareth to uncover what has happened since he left.
Gameplay is built around sound rather than weapons. Players evade blind stalkers that hunt by hearing, solve harmonic puzzles using Tuning Forks and other instruments, and use the Carillon with interchangeable cylinders to influence pursuers. There is no combat: the design is built around stealth, careful movement, and sound. The Sker franchise to date has been single-player only, and The Bleeding Veil will continue that pattern. The horror lane this October is already crowded with sound-driven releases; Phasmophobia’s Halloween event (#469) and the Amanda the Adventurer movie adaptation (#463) both tap the same indie-horror lane as The Bleeding Veil.
Wales Interactive’s previous Sker credits include Maid of Sker, Sker Ritual, and Dead Reset, while Stormind Games is best known for the Remothered series (Tormented Fathers, Broken Porcelain, Subjected). The two studios co-developed here for the first time, with Wales Interactive acting as the publisher. A Steam listing is live now under appid 4119440 with a Q2 2027 placeholder date and a store page populated with new screenshots.
Our read: This is a quieter announcement than the headline Sker games of the past, but the studio pairing is the most interesting part. Stormind’s Remothered trilogy earned a following for its story-heavy, sound-driven horror, and Wales Interactive has shipped three Sker games on its own. A stealth horror game where sound is the only weapon lines up with both studios’ strengths, and the 1924 Welsh orphanage setting echoes the Maid of Sker DNA. The franchise has historically shipped without co-op or online features, so the bigger watch-items are the launch date tightening and any Switch 2 confirmation. Spring 2027 is/are the seasonal launch window the studios set, sitting between the bigger horror weeks like Phasmophobia’s Halloween cycle (#469) and the indie showcase pushes in the ID@Xbox October 20 lineup (#813).
