Dead by Daylight has officially crossed over with NieR: Automata. The NieR: Automata Collection went live on October 6 across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, bringing 2B, A2, and Emil into Behaviour Interactive’s asymmetrical horror game as Legendary and Very Rare outfits.
2B is a Legendary Outfit for Feng Min, and A2 is a Legendary Outfit for Yui Kimura. Both come with unique music, voice lines, HUD icons, and menu idle animations meant to make the YoRHa androids feel native to The Fog. YoRHa is NieR: Automata’s android military unit, and The Fog is the nightmare realm where Dead by Daylight Survivors and Killers clash. The Legion, meanwhile, gets a Very Rare Outfit modelled on Emil, complete with his massive round head and signature grin.
The crossover is cosmetic-only, so 2B, A2, and Emil are not standalone Survivors or Killers with new perks, which is the same model Behaviour has used for most of its licensed Collections, including Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, and Stranger Things. Behaviour framed the partnership around shared thematic ground, calling both worlds a study in cycles of violence and suffering, per OpenCritic and Anime News Network’s coverage of the press materials.
This is the rare crossover where the subject game is older than Dead by Daylight’s average licensed partner. NieR: Automata launched in 2017, less than two years after DbD’s 2016 launch, and GameRant’s coverage notes the franchise has stuck around far longer than most releases from its era, per the studio’s messaging. The Collection went live October 6 in the middle of a packed October 2026 release calendar, and is one of several live-service content drops this month alongside the Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion, the Risk of Rain 2: Hallowed Concepts DLC, and the Zenless Zone Zero 3.3 update. The official Dead by Daylight channel has a one-minute reveal trailer showing all three outfits in action, and the NieR: Automata Collection is on sale now in Dead by Daylight’s in-game store.
Our read: DbD’s crossovers have drifted well past the obvious horror licenses over the last few years, and NieR: Automata is the cleanest example of that widening. If you already main Feng Min or Yui Kimura, this is the Collection you’ve been waiting for; everyone else can wait for the next drop and see how the 2B silhouette feels in actual Trials.
