Zenless Zone Zero version 3.3, “Journey to the Sky,” arrives on October 21 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and mobile. The headline additions are two new S-Rank Agents and a mech combat mode that’s sticking around after this patch.
Phoenix, a Fire Anomaly Agent from the Krampus Compliance Authority, leads the first half of the update. Her Core Skill makes Anomaly damage crit against enemies she’s seared, and if she takes a fatal hit she can revive on the spot at full health. Severian, a Wind Attack Agent from New Eridu Public Security, follows in the second half with an auto-dodge that turns into a counterattack. Both get matching S-Rank W-Engines.
The main story sends you to the occupied skyport of Quietude Isle, where Lindverne’s Karma Core power builds combat mechs you can pilot. They switch between melee and ranged modes, and dodging or landing an EX Special unlocks a laser attack. HoYoverse says mech gameplay will carry into future versions, so this isn’t a one-patch gimmick.
Halloween shows up in the event schedule. “Night of Supernatural Tricks” in Lumina Square includes a Trickmobile VR game with an outfit and a new A-Rank W-Engine as rewards. Enigma of the Labyrinth gets a seasonal “Spooky Trial” too, and Area Patrol and Combat Simulation double drops are back.
There’s also a quality-of-life fix that newer players will like. Fairy can now recommend full team lineups from the Agents you own and apply them to a preset in one click. Check-in events hand out 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons, a small head start on the new banners. Encrypted Master Tapes are the currency for the limited Agent banners, so every free one counts.
Coming back for 3.3? October is crowded with launches, from Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse to Modern Warfare 4, so the check-in rewards are a low-effort way to stay current.
Our read: we analyzed both kits in HoYoverse’s version notes, and Phoenix’s revive looks like the pull here if you run Anomaly teams. Severian is easier to skip unless you need a Wind Attack Agent.
