Battlefield 6 is heading to Sin City. EA’s Season 5: Siege of Vegas launches October 13 with two new maps, a new battle royale mode called Rapid Royale, four new weapons, and a Halloween Dead Space crossover tied to Area 51, the developer confirmed in an October 9 roadmap post.

The new maps are Vegas Strip, which EA describes as “neon-lit chaos” with casinos, luxury hotels, underground storm drains, and helicopters weaving through skyscrapers, and Area 51, a desert military installation built around a massive crater leading into a tight, classified underground facility. A third map is set to arrive later in the season. The Vegas Strip and Area 51 trailer is already on the Xbox channel.

The four-weapon loadout is the Mk 24 assault rifle (low-mag, high-damage at range), the RSPR submachine gun (rifle-like control, smaller mag), the Z84M light machine gun (100-round box, heavy recoil), and the ELR-40 bolt-action sniper (the longest sweet spot in the game, plus a single-shot close-range ammo option). REDSEC’s Rapid Royale drops into Vegas with streamlined Trios and Solos, a fast-closing Ring of Fire, and a redeploy mechanic that keeps squads fighting from drop to final circle.

The Dead Space crossover is the Halloween hook. A Convergence Event narrative plays out as soldiers uncover a mysterious Marker beneath Area 51; EA says more details will be revealed as the event draws closer. Beyond Halloween, the Casino Heist update lands November 10 (an infantry-only European Casino map with destructive gameplay) and the Frozen Aces update on December 8 adds Platoons, the long-awaited Server Browser, Operation High Roller, and the B-81 Cavalry vehicle. A Battlefield 6 Full Game Trial runs October 15 to 19, and Gauntlet mode goes away on October 13.

Our read

The Server Browser on December 8 is the headline. The Battlefield community has been asking for it since launch, and locking it to a specific date rather than a vague “later in the season” is a small but real step toward the kind of community-run servers that defined Battlefield 3 and 4. Per our October release list, the Battlefield 6 Full Game Trial from October 15 to 19 lands the same week as Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse on October 15 and one week before Modern Warfare 4 goes into DMZ early access on October 20, a stacked window for shooter fans and one EA clearly wants in on. The Halloween Dead Space event is also a smart marketing play: it gives lapsed players a reason to log in during the trial week, similar to the Ace Combat 8 post-launch sales push this summer.

If you’re on the fence, the free trial window is the cheapest way in. If you’re already playing, the Server Browser alone is the feature to plan your December around.
