Monster Hunter Wilds comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, Capcom announced. Digital pre-orders open on the Nintendo eShop on October 19.
The Switch 2 version isn’t a cut-down port. It supports full cross-play online plus local wireless play, and it includes every title update released so far, including the Grand Hub and the Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration.
Prices:
| Edition | Price |
|---|---|
| Standard (digital) | $39.99 ($29.99 early pre-order price) |
| Deluxe (physical) | $39.99 |
| Gold Edition | $79.99 |
A free Prologue Demo arrives before launch, so you can test performance first. The first expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, is due on Switch 2 in 2027 (RPG Site).
Monster Hunter Wilds first launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in February 2025, so the Switch 2 version arrives with almost two years of updates already built in. That’s a better starting point than most ports get.
Our read: from our analysis of the pricing, the early $29.99 price is the deal here, about a quarter less than the standard digital price. In the US that early price runs until December 3, the day before launch, according to Gematsu, so there’s no rush to pre-order on October 19. It lands a day after Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World; see December on our Release Calendar.
