ASUS Republic of Gamers put the ROG Xbox Ally X20 on sale today, with a $1,299 standalone price and a $2,499 bundle that throws in ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 AR glasses, a dbrand Killswitch case and a Pelican Protector case. It’s a 20th-anniversary handheld built around a translucent black chassis with a gold internal structure, a 7.4-inch OLED Nebula HDR display and an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor.
The X20 joins ASUS’s existing handheld lineup without replacing either of the two current models: the original ROG Xbox Ally stays at $599, and the ROG Xbox Ally X stays at $999. The new model adds magnetic TMR joysticks designed to reduce stick drift, a tool-free transforming D-pad that switches between four-way and eight-way, and new rubberized grips. Variable refresh rate is supported, and the cooling system has been redesigned with three airflow paths and larger-diameter fans that ASUS says move 20% more air.
The companion software, Armoury Crate Special Edition, gets a refresh too, with customizable Command Center, Library and Action buttons, a new Travel Mode that caps charging at 65W for in-seat outlets on planes and trains, and an opt-in preview channel for power users. ASUS hasn’t said which regions get the launch first or whether bundle stock is limited.
