Shin chan is getting two Switch 2 ports. Neos Corporation is the Japanese publisher behind the Shin chan games. The company has confirmed that Shin chan: Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation – The Endless Seven-Day Journey and Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town will both hit the new console worldwide on March 4, 2027. Clear River Games is Neos’s Western publishing partner. Clear River is putting both titles on a single physical cartridge in a Double Pack.

Both games are sandbox summer-vacation sims set in rural Japan. The Switch 2 versions run at 60 frames per second with higher resolution. They add optional mouse controls and ship with selectable text and audio languages. There’s also a save-anywhere feature the original Switch versions didn’t have. Anyone who already owns the Switch editions gets a discount on the Switch 2 upgrade, though Neos hasn’t named pricing for the upgrade path yet.

The physical Double Pack from Clear River Games (also handling He-Man: Dragon Pearl of Destruction) ships both games on a single full game cartridge rather than a Game Key Card. A Game Key Card is a Switch 2 cart that holds only a license key; the full game downloads. The Double Pack comes with a reversible cover and a booklet. It is up for pre-order now in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia for 9,900 yen or regional equivalent. The first print run includes a set of stickers. Neos hasn’t named a Western retail release date for the physical Double Pack, only the digital Switch 2 date for both titles.

Both games are already on Steam. They are also on Crunchyroll Game Vault for mobile via the Mega and Ultimate Fan tiers. Crunchyroll Game Vault is the anime streamer’s rotating game library for subscribers. So Switch 2 is the third platform for Me and the Professor (originally Switch 2022) and the second for Shiro and the Coal Town (originally Switch 2024). The Double Pack’s full-cartridge release also lines up with Nintendo’s recent position that physical games will keep shipping on the system, even as key card sales climb – a stance Bill van Zyll, Nintendo’s Latin America VP, confirmed last week.

Our read: A pair of cozy Switch ports is the kind of release the Switch 2 library has been missing since launch. The lineup is well-regarded Japanese games with real fan bases, full-cartridge physical, and a price that won’t scare off the audience that bought the originals. The catch for Western players is the physical one: until Neos names a Western retail partner, importing the Double Pack is the only way to get a boxed copy. By the numbers: the 9,900 yen ask is roughly $65 USD at current rates. That is a $30 jump over Me and the Professor’s Switch MSRP, but it covers both games on a real card rather than a key card. The sticker bundle makes it the version collectors will want. Case example: a Tokyo-based Shin chan fan who already owns the Switch version of Me and the Professor can pre-order the Double Pack today for 9,900 yen and get both games on a single Switch 2 card with the sticker set, which sidesteps the key-card versus full-cartridge debate Nintendo has been wrestling with on the platform.
