Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse launches on October 15, 2026 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. On Steam, the store’s own countdown puts the unlock at 04:00 UTC on October 15: that’s 9 PM Pacific / 11 PM Central on Wednesday, October 14, midnight Eastern, 5 AM BST and 1 PM JST on October 15. That’s why the Steam page shows “October 14” for US players. Konami’s official site lists “Out October 15, 2026” without a clock time for the console versions, so check your console store for the exact unlock where you live.
The Switch version ships the same day and runs on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, with 30fps rather than the 60fps target on other platforms. Konami’s Japanese Castlevania account confirmed the Switch date in July, and there’s no native Switch 2 edition announced. The Switch version is smaller too: 4 GB for Standard and 6 GB for Midnight, compared to 8 GB and 10 GB on the other platforms.
Two editions are up for pre-order. The Standard Edition is $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99. The Midnight Edition is $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 and adds the Digital Sound & Art Gallery (over 100 pieces of artwork plus an in-app music player) and three in-game bonuses: Trevor and Sypha style costumes and the Family’s Grace relic. Pre-orders on any edition get an Alucard Style Costume. Pre-orders are open at the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Nintendo eShop, and Steam.
The game ships with Japanese and English voice acting and text in 11 languages, including German, French, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean. There’s a free demo if you want to try the whip and the Arcana tarot-card system before launch day.
Belmont’s Curse is a brand-new 2D Castlevania from Konami, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin, set 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. You play as Rose Belmont, Trevor’s daughter, hunting through burning 1499 Paris with the Vampire Killer whip. The full launch lineup for the week is on our October 2026 release list and the Release Calendar.
Our read: If you’re on PC in the US, you don’t have to wait for Thursday: Steam unlocks on Wednesday evening Pacific time. On console, go by your store’s listing. The Midnight Edition is worth the extra $10 mainly if you want the art gallery and soundtrack; the costumes and relic are a nice extra rather than a reason to upgrade.
Correction (October 12, 2026): We originally said the Steam version unlocks at 10 AM Pacific on October 15; Steam lists 04:00 UTC on October 15, which is 9 PM Pacific on October 14.
