Pokemon Go is splitting its Halloween celebration into two parts this year, and the Pokémon GO team has now detailed both halves. Part I runs from Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. through Sunday, November 1, at 10:00 a.m. local time, with Part II picking up the same day at 10:00 a.m. and running through Thursday, November 5, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
Part I is the costume-pokemon debut. Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet, Zubat wearing a top hat, and Sinistea wearing a bow all make their first appearances, each with a Shiny variant to chase. The costumed Pikachu and Sinistea also appear in one-star raids. The wild spawns include the Zubat costume, Duskull, Piplup in a Halloween Mischief costume, and a Drifblim also in a Halloween Mischief costume. As a small touch for franchise fans, a remix of the Lavender Town music from the original Pokemon games plays nightly in-game during the whole event.
Part II is the power-up. The headline is Mega Sableye reaching a brand-new “Super Max” Mega Level, the first Pokemon ever to hit that tier. Reaching Super Max lets it learn a second Charged Attack while Mega Evolved: Night Shade+, hitting for 55 power in Trainer Battles and 160 in raids, with extra damage scaling up as the Mega Level goes higher. The other big debut is Shiny Greavard, making its Pokemon Go debut, found in the wild and through GO Pass and Field Research tasks. Wild spawns in Part II include Litwick, a costumed Rowlet, Greavard, and a Gengar in a Spooky Festival costume, with the same Pikachu and Sinistea returning for one-star raids.
The GO Pass: Halloween 2026 progression track runs across both parts, from October 27 to November 5. The free track hands out encounters, Candy, Rare Candy, and Ultra Balls, with a 2x Candy bonus at Rank 10 and 2x Stardust at Rank 20. The paid GO Pass Deluxe is $7.99 (or $9.99 with a +10 Ranks head start) and adds extra encounters, the Patissier outfit, Rare Candy XL, and Premium Battle Passes. All rewards must be claimed by 8:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, November 7, or they expire.
Both parts also have Halloween-themed Field Research tasks and new avatar items in the shop (the Gothic Skirt Set, Gothic Shorts Set, Gothic Socks, and Gothic Boots). The avatar items stay in the shop after the event ends, and PokéStops, Gyms and Pokémon encounters get Halloween decor across both parts.
Our read: Two costumed Pokemon plus a brand-new Mega Level tier is a lot for a Halloween event, and the Super Max upgrade is the part that matters for anyone who raids. Super Max and its bonus Charged Attacks were first introduced during Mega Finale, and Sableye is the first Pokémon to get it. Mega Evolving alone won’t get you there: you need to reach the third level, Max, and then spend Sableye Mega Energy. If you’ve been sitting on Sableye Mega Energy, Part II is the week to spend it.
The full Halloween event window runs from October 27 through November 5, 2026, with GO Pass rewards claimable until November 7. Upcoming dates are on our Release Calendar. For the broader mobile-games calendar this week, see our Zenless Zone Zero 3.3 update coverage and the Player Counts dashboard for cross-title activity.
Correction (October 12, 2026): We originally said all three costumed Pokémon appear in one-star raids; only Pikachu and Sinistea do.
